My husbands sweats a lot. I was looking at the Under Armour quick dry shirts that wick away moisture. Sounds good in theory, but they are 100% polyester, NOT the natural, breathing material I am inclined to wear in heat and humidity.

Anyone have any thoughts? Do you stay dry but sweat more? LOL TIA

I have to consider myself an expert in this field,I live in Miami and between April and October Cool Max,Dri-Fit,etc.. shirts is pretty much all I can wear. Now pretty much all these shirts are polyester but there are differences,I have about 7 pairs of Nike Fit dry t-shirts and there absolutely can't be anything better to wear in hot weather than these because even though it's polyester they are thin so you automatically just feel comfortable in them and when you sweat they don't collect the sweat like a cotton t-shirt does.Adidas ones are pretty good but I prefer the Nike ones.Again it's all about how thick they are as I have a Quick silver t-shirt also made of polyester however it's thick and just has a different feel to it like you'll be hot in it,I haven't worn it since February and don't expect to wear it again until November or December.Old Navy also has some pretty inexpensive ones called Rec Tech or something like that that even though are not as nice as the Nike ones are pretty good as well, they had them on sale one day for like $3-$4 and I think I bought like 6 of them they only had like 3 colors otherwise I would have bought more.I've never bought any Under Armour ones but I've noticed many of them are not as thin as the Nike ones.Even if I go shopping for Polos they have to be of some sort of cool max material.

The UA shirts are fantastic. The t-shirts can feel almost like cotton, but very
lite weight. Technology makes life better, remember wool is a natural fabric also. Imagine that( Orlando, summer, wool clothing):faint:

I can agree with Doom on this one. I have bought the ones from Old Navy. Love those shirts. That's all I wore when we went to WDW last year.

Kohl's also has a brand called Tek Gear that are also pretty good. Usually you can find them pretty cheap. Kohl's also carries the Nike, Fila and Adidas brands as well. They do work great and help keep you cool.

They are great but my least favorite brand is Under Armour. UAs are just heavy and do not breathe as well. Try holding a UA in one hand and an Addidas or Nike in the other hand. The UA is much heavier. I guess you're just buying the name.

My softball team has dry fit jersies and they are navy blue. They are not hot at all, even in the sun.

Cotton and other natural fibers are the worst thing you can wear! They get wet and stay wet. I wear Nike brand 100% polyester shirts. They breathe MUCH better and if they get wet, they dry quickly. You hardly notice sweating in them because they allow evaporation, cotton does not.

In cold weather survival situations, if you are wearing a cotton shirt, and it gets wet, you die! I've seen the survival guys on the TV who fall in water while wearing cotton STRIP naked, because it is better to dry off naked in the cold than to wear wet cotton!

We have long sleeved under armour for fall for the kids soccer to keep them warm. However, for Disney, I bought cheap quick drying shirts from Target. They worked VERY well and washed fine. I was never any hotter in those shirts than I was regular cotton.

I am also a big fan of the cool max-type fabrics. My go to brand is the C9 line by Champion. You can get them at Target and they go on sale often, and you can get good deals on the clearance rack.

I wear these when running, when doing outside activities and even under my costumes. Having that wicking action makes a big difference.

Underarmor is okay, but on the expensive side, IMO. If you do go with UA, see if you can get the Heat Gear line. I find it works better than the regular stuff.

I have several: Nike, Reebock, UA and others and I think the Nike ones are the best. I sweat like I'm a lawn sprinkler and these work very well.

These type of shirts are great for WDW. We got a few at Target and Kohls. My daughter had a cotton shirt on one day and stayed wet most of the day.

I have purchased many of the above brands and they all work really well. Even got my wife to convert. For a long time she was afraid she would look bad in them but after wearing one on a hot day she converted. I have purchased the wal mart brand and the Starter brand that walmart carries. and they are very inexspensive and feel very lightweight. My only gripe with any brand is that they snag very easily.
