Nearly there now. :cool1:

We are stopping at PORS on a Virgin package so our Disney park tickets will be on our room key.

On the last day we are looking to check in at DTD but when we check out of the hotel, can we still have a last minute trip into the parks, before the trip to the airport in the afternoon? I guess that your 14 days entry starts at the time you check in/visit the first park. Does this mean if we visit a park the evening we arrive we will not be able to get in without our key/pass on the day we leave?

Had a call from the Virgin rep in Orlando last night, nice touch. But forgot to ask as I was half way through ordering the "dead presidents" .As we have planned ahead, thanks to finding DISboards :woohoo:, there wasn't alot she could tell us. But found out we get early access to Universal as we bought tickets through them. Nice !

You will have no problem using your tickets after you check out. Even if you check in and stay onsite for one night and spend the next 13 days offsite, you can still use your tickets. The fact that they are on your key card makes no difference.

The tickets are activated from the first time you use it to enter a park. For example, we don't use our tickets on arrival night but start them the next day. They are valid for 14 days from and including the first day you use then for park entry.

Lee, I think you have misread the question.
JonFozz is asking if he can use 1st night on arrival and last day. That would be 15 days so no he can't. Its a choice between evening of arrival or last day when flying home.

What did the rep say about the early entry to universal, did she say you had to visit one of the welcome meetings, I have heard you may have to do this to get your voucher for early entry to harry potter land etc. :confused3

I have been to Disney on 4 occasions now don’t really think i want a welcome meeting not when i will be planning as i always do it will just be an inconvenience :headache:

Thats what we were thinking I think its a way to get you to the welcome evening as they also give you a card to use at various places off site where kids eat free.

Will have to think that over. Rootbeer float or welcome meeting..... only one winner!!

I beg to differ.

I don't see where the OP mentioned 15 days.

If you are relying on Disney buses including Magical Express, shoot to be back at your resort an hour before your DME bus back to the airport which is in turn about 4 hours before your flight. (Incidentals such as a slow gift shop cashier or someone needing to go to the bathroom or waiting for the bellhop to bring your luggage will likely get you over to the DME bus platform somewhat closer to your bus time)

The welcoming evening is not a vacation club or time share presentation, it it?

The 14 day life span of a ticket is measured in consecutive discrete Disney days (06:00-28:00) or fractions thereof, not consecutive 24 hours periods starting with the hour of first usage.

I believe the OP is going on a 14 night holiday (standard trip that majority of UK holidaymakers take) with a 14 day UK Ultimate ticket.
If he uses the ticket on his arrival night (say Saturday) the ticket will expire on the Friday and will not be valid on his last day (Saturday) before he flies home.

Welcome meetings are arranged by UK tour operators for arrival of guests who need help with planning (basically to try sell them additional tickets & tours) many 1st time travellers attend but very few experienced travellers.

Thanks for the help. Haven't got time for the welcome meeting there are rides that need riding, root beer that needs drinking & 2 disney shopaholics that need their fix!!

You could try and arrange to pick up the tickets at the Airport, but when we went they were only doing that if you 'bought' something that they had to pass to you at airport. We bought our Kennedy Space Centre tickets from them (slightly dearer than direct) to take advantage of this; as we're too busy to attend 'Welcome' meetings too!:goodvibes
