This should be easy to answer!

Does anyone know the earliest date I could book OKW through Disney (to get the free DDP and 42% off) for October 2012?

I know this seems like extreme forward planning but I'm looking at my finances and I am thinking of investing in a fixed term ISA to help me save. I want the money to be available when I need it!

I am saying a little prayer each week that the offer will still be on by the time I have saved enough to book.:)

Thanks.

I don't think you can book the offer any further ahead than 2010 at the moment. And there is no guarantee that the offer will be available for 2011 let alone 2012. IF there is a chance that such an offer becomes available for 2012, I reckon you probably won't be able to book much earlier than around August/September 2011.

Having said all of that, I'm no expert as we don't tend to book any of the packages through the UK site so it may be that you can book further ahead. I very much doubt it, though.

I booked in May (end of May) in last year for our October trip this year. Did it through Disney uk. I had been watching the site daily and booked as soon as it opened up. If there is a set pattern to this booking window you would be able to book next May. No way of telling though with Disney!!!!

I tend to do what you do and save up for my trip in advance, so I am usually saving for a subsequent trip before I leave on the upcoming one. however I could have done better if I had waited a couple of months. It is always a gamble. What I have decided to do after this last booking (October 2010) is to save the money, but not to be in such a hurry to book. Also if a great deal comes up before I have all the funds saved (which is usually the case) I still book it, knowing that it is interest free to pay off. If you are doing DIY, pay the flights first or make sure you have enough cash set aside for them so you don't incur interest by doing them on credit, then pay whatever else you have to Disney uk. If you are saving in an ISA, you are actually better leaving the money in there until it falls due to be paid in full then paying it so that you can accrue interest on that for as long as possible - it isnt small change!:lmao: In fact, by doing that for our trip last year, which I booked earlly in 2008, when the £/$ started to slide I went and bought my currency first, then kept saving for the holiday. By having the funds at my disposal, not locked up in the holiday already, it meant I got my travel money for $1.98 to the £ - by the time we travelled it was down to $1.36!!! I believe it is always best to have your cash at your disposal as long as possible. It gives greater flexibility and you never know what is going to happen in 6, 12 or 36 months time!

Hope this helps.

Thank you. It looks like I might be able to book as early as next May. I think I will take out a 1 year fixed ISA. I really really hope that the Disney offer is still on. My plan is to have saved enough money to pay for the whole trip by the end of 2011. That will be 3 years of saving.:scared1: During 2012, my plan is to save for spending money and 'extras'.

Sounds like you have a good plan! :thumbsup2 Just another wee point: there are different deals coming out all the time and the ones you "didn't get" will always make you wonder about what you actually went for. At the end of the day you will make the best choice that suits YOU and your circumstances at the time! Another thing is that Disney US also does some great deals, but very different to the ones here. It all depends where, when and what you are looking for. They are out there. ;) All the best.

Thanks.:goodvibes I know that as soon as I walk down Main Street, it won't matter what deal I got.:thumbsup2

I'm so impressed how organised you are Joolz.

I have put our trip back to 2013 so we can see all the new refurbs etc.

I'm also possibly sacrificing my DLRP trip nxt year so we have extra funds for WDW.

I thought about having a DLP trip this January with the offer that's on. Once I'd calculated travel and food, plus 2 new passports, I realised that I wouldn't get much change from £1000. I ummed and ahhhed and then thought about what £1000 would get me at WDW. I would ideally like to do a Wishes Cruise for example.

It's a shame we won't be there at the same time - I had planned a DISmeet with you.:lmao:
