How do you do a screen cap? I need to know in the next few minutes - thanks!

You should be able to get it by hitting the Prt Scr (Print Screen) button on your keyboard. On mine it is the left most of the three buttons just past the Function keys.

Once you do that, you'll have to open Word and paste (Ctrl + V) the picture into a new document. Not sure what you want to do with the pic, so there may be a better program to put it in than word, but that will capture the screen.

Hit your print screen button, then copy and paste it into MS Word or other program.

if you ONLY want the "active window"...and not your desktop/taskbar/background stuff...hit "alt-print screen" at the same time...

that way you'll only capture the active window (I do this often for work)

you can then paste it into word/whatever document you're working on

I didn't know that about alt-printscreen. Thanks for that tidbit.

If you are going to be doing a lot of screen captures, I can suggest a freeware product from Gadwin Systems, Inc. called Gadwin PrintScreen. It saves you the step of having to open an application to paste the printscreen information and instead allows you to write the image to a file. This way you can do a lot of printscreens in rapid succession (like grabbing images of the Disney Magic/Wonder off of the TwoPalms Webcam.

There are many other programs available, but I Gadwin PrintScreen is freeware and works well.
