We have been back for a almost two weeks (just a little behind) but we were at HHI from August 29 thru September 3. This was the first time we had used our points for a resort. The only other time was for a cruise.
We had a 2bdrm villa bldg 25 and it was the perfect location! We were right behind the big dipper slide! Having a 2yo this was very convenient. The room was clean and beautiful. The kids shared a room and we had a room very comfortable.
We missed the piggly wiggly so ended up at the publix for groceries. Considering this was a low budget trip it was very convenient and saved us a ton on eating out.
We didn't do the shrimp boil because we are all allergic to shellfish except for hubby so we didn't think it was a good bang for our money.
We did get the mugs for the kids, my son 16 yo enjoyed the crapping (he caught over a dozen decent size crabs) and we did one of the dolphin cruises but didn't see much. We did get to see them when we were at the beach.
The beach house was nice and the pool was great. It was a nice atmosphere with music and all. The main pool tend to be more quite.
There wasn't much to do for my 16 y.o as far as activities and most of the organized activities were for children 5 and over but we were able to participate with my 3 yo in the bunny hunt, campfire and the little camp they had one day. Over all they both enjoyed it because the main focus was the pool and beach.
We drove to seapines for a bit and did the HarbourTown light house tour and then it was so hot that day we got back to the resort as fast as we could to take a dip in the pool.
One thing I wasn't warned about were the bugs! We took a stroll one night to take a peek at the boats and the restaurants around the harbor and I was freaked out at the amount of roaches that were everywhere. Needless to say I didn't take that stroll again and on the last night there was one in our room! I did notice earlier in the week that the bug man was out and about.
All in all it was a wonderful trip. We usually do Florida and the parks and I was a bit hesistant to do this thinking we may not have alot to do but really I could have stayed longer! It was very relaxing and I'm looking forward to another trip.
