Quick Christmas time trip - BWI or AKL

Planning a 4 night trip after Thanksgiving to see the Osborne Lights one last time!

Will be myself, DD 5, and mother; we will have a stroller and an ECV. The price difference is not that much to make it the deciding factor. My main concerns about AKL are the size of the room and the location/transportation. BWI does have a fantastic location for 2 parks, but isn't near MK . And the resort isn't really alluring me... I've changed my mind about 5 times

So help me pick!

We stayed at AKL for our April trip and LOVED it, but we do want to stay at BWI, BC, or YC for our next stay because of the proximity to Epcot and HS. However, if you're more interested in MK this may not matter as much to you.

We found a standard room at AKL to be fine, no complaints about the size. You truly cannot beat the theming in that hotel either. It's just incredible. Your DD will love seeing the animals! Bus service was no problem at all during that time, but may be more crowded for your trip. It was about a 25 minute ride to MK.

Have stayed at both, though not at Christmas time. Of the two my pick would be BWI, you can't beat the location and the atmosphere and the number of dining choices. AKL is a beautiful resort, but a little but too out of the way for me.
If you plan on going to MK a lot did you consider any of the monorail resorts or the WL which is beautiful at Christmas time?

AKL is also not near MK. If OL are main reason, I would do Boardwalk. You can walk to HS and Epct, and just deal with the bus for the other two days (as opposed to 4 days!)

If Osbourne Lights is one of the main reasons you are going, I would do BWI. You can't get much closer to DHS than BWI! You will also get a bigger room - AKL rooms are on the small side. You will need to take a bus to MK from both AKL and BWI and AKL is further. They just announced that BWI will no longer share a bus with Swan/Dolphin as well. We love BWI and will be there in December for the 6th time. It's really a lovely resort.

If you are taking a short trip, with your main objective being the Osborne Lights, then your best best is BWI. Larger rooms, better transportation, nightlife, proximity to both DHS and Epcot are the reasons we were happy to switch from our regular WL to BWI. We're super excited for the change, especially at Christmas!
