Quick carry on question

We are leaving Sunday and I can't remember if we can carry deodorant (solid stick) in the carry on bag? This also goes along with a solid stick of sunscreen, OK to put in carry on bag?

Second question is I will be bringing my Ipad along this trip. Do I just put it through the machine with everything else or do they have to do a special scan/check with Ipads/laptop items?

Never traveled with an Ipad or laptop before so new with that.

Solid anything isn't liquid, gel, or paste, so it can go anywhere in any piece of luggage. Don't waste 3-1-1 bag space on it

Your IPad is generally considered 'plain old' electronic equipment and can stay in your carryon (never checked!) luggage.

When going through security, take your Ipad out of the bag and place it in a separate bin from all your other items. It will then go through the scanners just like everything else. No special scan or anything.

Not necessary. An iPad can stay in your carry-on baggage.
