what size are the cakes that are available to purchase at the restaurants, podium cakes I think they are called?

oh are candles provided and will they put "happy bday so and so"?

what cakes are availble for purchase at MK bakery?

don't want a big cake, its just four of us (maybe 5, but that's another story:rotfl:) and we'll be at a character buffet so will already have access to sweets, cake is mainly for ceremony

* please guys dont refer me to the cake thread, that thing is long!

But that's where the information is... :) I don't think anyone on here would know that off the top of their heads! Best idea is to call the cake hotline - I'm sure they'll give you all the info you need.

If you buy a cake at the restaurant (podium) I don't think they will write a name on it. Everything I've seen says the special occasion cakes you can order IN the restaurants are not personalized. As for providing candles, I don't know if they will do that either.

If you want a personalized or custom cake you need to call the cake hotline and ask about your options. The first post of the cake thread also has other locations you can call, depending on where you would like the cake delivered. You dont' need to read the whole thread; just look at the first post.

sorry I dont been to be a nag but will the cake hotline give me info on podium cakes also? that's all I basically want, the special order cakes are too expensive and like I said it's more for ceremony.

hours for boardwalk bakery?

thanx

From information I have seen about ordering a cake while you are in the restaurant, these cakes will NOT be personalized with a name. I don't have any idea what they look like. I am also not sure the cake hotline will be able to help you with the generic cakes. If you want anything personalized, though, you need to call them.

If you are planning on carrying a cake from Boardwalk Bakery to your character buffet, you should note that awhile back there was a post from someone who did just that at Chef Mickey's. They were allowed to bring the cake into the restaurant. However, the poster wanted the cake kept in the kitchen and brought out by the restaurant staff for presentation to the birthday child. This was refused, as outside food could not be kept in the kitchen area for sanitation reasons, and the staff was not permitted to serve it. The restaurant also would not supply candles, or serving plates or cutting implements; these had to be retrieved from the buffet by the guests. The poster was quite upset that they had to serve the cake themselves onto buffet plates from a cardboard box, which had to be kept at the table for the full meal. Not sure what sort of celebration you are hoping to have, but you should be aware of the limitations of bringing your own cake into a restaurant.

gotcha! thanx for the info, I just was not sure if the cake hotline would have podium cake info, I will call them a lil while. I guess that's my best option since getting one from the boardwalk bakery sounds a little like a hassle.

thanx!

Some restaurants do write messages in chocolate on plates...maybe they could put a name on a generic cake, or on the plate the cake is served on. But I don't know if you can get that kind of information ahead of time.
