We are going to BCV in 2 months from today!

We will be in a 1 BR. Can anybody give me the lowdown on the different views available? I wonder what if anything to request.

Thanks in advance!

Lisa

Views aren't that great-personally, I'd just ask for a non frontage road view (i.e., quiet area)

I like the pool view at BCV.

I also like the wooded view there. The wooded area is the area between the sidewalk toEpcot and the villas.

LOL, I think I would request a view of Walt Disney World. ;)

Yes, that's my favorite view-the woods view. However, whenever I call MS to book at BCV, they insist that there's only 3 views-pool, courtyard, and (the view formerly known as)Epcot. Come to think of it, I wonder what that's called now. I even tried to request "overlooking trees" once and MS told me that I couldn't! The courtyard view is good if you're a "people watcher". But if you want to see Illuminations from your room, it isn't there.

It doesn't matter what view request you make since the "Room Ready" policy has been in use there, you will get whatever room is available when you check in. Just make your S/NS and HA request if needed.

I checked in on 2/1 (Thursday) at around 5:00pm and got my request, non-smoking, top floor studio. It appeared to be preassigned, the cm had it right there on the screen, they didn't seem to have to search for a room. I made the reservation a week before.

The "Room ready" policy isn't always used. When I checked in in November, the room I'd been assigned to wasn't ready so I had to wait. When I finally got it, it was a "Pool view" which I didn't request and didn't want (personnal issue with pools). WHen I went back and politely asked, they gave me a room which met all my requests-and that room had been available all along! Go figure!

Hmmm...I guess I will set my expectations low. Are the woods views also overlooking the service road? Is there any glimpse of Illuminations at all from any of these rooms? How about the pool view? Is it noisy? I won't expect much, but I didn't really know what the options even were....

Actually the view that overlooks the road (some people get a little fussy about calling this a service road, it is really not a service road, it is Epcot Resorts Boulevard). Anyway, the view that overlooks this road has a view of Illuminations, mind you its not a perfect view, you can only see the higher fireworks and it depends on your floor, but from our 5th floor room we can catch glimpes of the earth as it comes out on the water. Our family actually prefers this view. The road noise does not bother us at all and during the day if you look a lot of what you will see is back areas of Epcot that are not that nice to look at. But at night looking at Spaceship Earth lit up and watching illuminations from our balcony is worth it to us.

different strokes for different folks, we were really disappointed with being on the "road" view. Even though it was great shot of SE, and illuminations could be seen, the road was very noisy to us, and actually kept us from sitting on the balcony. Even kept DH up one night. We are squirmish about our quietness, so just MHO.

have a great trip! :)

Well, you need to ask yourself, what's important to you? We usually ask for non-smoking and that's it. I'd limit your requests to one more, tops, if you want the room assignor to have a prayer of meeting requests. If you have 4,5,8 requests, they can't meet everything. Plus, you have to keep in mind that someone needs to be checking out of the room you are checking into on the same day.

And evaluate yourself and your trip. How much time are you REALLY going to be in your room? If you are a homebody and plan to stay at the room quite a bit, I can see where a view might be a bit more important. But if you are out at the parks, going commando touring, then the view is probably not that important.

Don't stress it. I can say we have had the road view and it was a bit noisy at times. We have had the pool view and it was very quiet. It's the quiet pool and there hasn't been any rabblerousing after hours keeping us up and we go to bed early. So don't worry. You'll be at BCV and WDW.

And so on and so on. Hey, sounds like a good song!

Yes, I agree. Once I got an Epcot view that someone had raved about (it WAS a beautiful view). However, the road noise was just too distracting to me. I gotta sit on the balcony.

Our family has had all kinds of views & I think we've decided the view doesn't matter to us as much as being close to the elevator! Our children are old enough to go down to visit Alex in the gift shop to trade pins & even though they know to walk, their excitement tends to get the best of them & they can be a bit exuberant! :woohoo: I figure the fewer doors they have to go past, the better neighbors we'll be! Seriously, though, I do enjoy the pool view b/c we can relax on the balcony while the kids are swimming, but I'll take whatever is ready when I check-in b/c I'm just happy to be home!! :cheer2:

Have a wonderful trip!!

Thanks all for the responses...thanks Diszip for the link to the pictures. That was really helpful! I am not sure we will make a request at all, but in some ways it would be nice to see the fireworks. We have our 14 month old son with us so when he goes to sleep early, it would be nice to watch the fireworks. Not sure about the noise though. The pool looks nice too...will have to give it some thought.

Thanks again!
