Quick AP question

I upgrade my five-day ticket to an AP today. This is the first time it's made sense for me to get one. I asked a CM a couple days ago if I would get my parking refunded as we are staying off-site this trip. He said as long as I had my receipts I would get it refunded. Today when I purchased the AP the CM said she could only refund today's parking. I didn't really fuss as I wasn't for sure what the policy is.

It seems to me since the AP is back dated to the first day I used the ticket that I should be able to get a refund on parking. Does someone know the answer? If it's no that's fine I just wanted to make sure. Thank you!!!

I can see both sides, but I think you're only going to get the day you upgraded.

Certainly not the official answer but I would guess that you'll only get the day you actually had the AP.

I would only expect to get refunded for the day you upgraded to an AP. Lots of people put tickets toward AP's, I can't see them backtracking and refunding for multiple days.

I didn't think of that. Thanks.

However, the actual situation that is an "upgrade" attempts to make it as though the ticket to which the guest upgrades was the ticket that was originally purchased. That's why they allow the full purchase price of even a mostly-used-up ticket to be applied to the upgrade transaction, and why they back-date the AP to the date that the original ticket was first used.

I'm not saying that Disney WILL refund all of the previous day's parking fees (in fact, I think that they won't)
but, in keeping with everything else as regards upgrades...
I think that they OUGHT to make a practice of doing so.

And, let's not forget that Disney would not be "losing money" by refunding those
previous days' parking fees.
If the guest had started with the AP in the first place, there would have been no collection
of those parking fees, anyway.

The other fly in the ointment is that there COULD have also been some "AP Discounts"
used in the days previous to the AP upgrade... and Disney would not be obliged to honor those
after-the-fact, if a guest wanted them.

Technically the cm screwed up and your renewal date should have been the upgrade date.

Did you get 13 months becsuse 3 days ago wasnt the 13 for 12 deal?

I would let the parking issue go but get your lost 3 days for the wrong renewal date back.

Sorry, but I don't understand your answer here at all.

AP upgrades are always back-dated to begin on the first date that the original ticket was used. That's almost "rule one" of upgrades.

Maybe you misspoke.

Ah you're right and it's the opposite when they screwed up.. I remember a lot of people talking about waiting to upgrade to get a better renewal date and I mixed it up..
