If I buy regular park hopper tickets now (for our trip next May), then later decide to upgrade to AP's, how would I go about it, and would we still get our DVC discount on the AP's?

We've bought AP's online before, but never as an upgrade from a regular parkhopper.

We're not yet sure if we're going to take a second trip next year (1st trip is booked), but if we do, we would rather get the AP's. I just don't want to get them now, in case we don't wind up doing another trip, kwim?

Yes, you can still get the DVC discount on the APs. You take the tickets you want to upgrade to guest services and ask to upgrade them to APs. Be sure to have your blue DVC member card to get the discount. You'll be better off using the tickets to actually enter the park, THEN going to guest services though, assuming you buy the park hoppers now (before the probable August price increase). This can only be done at guest services at the parks or at DTD, not that the resorts.

Once you use the park hoppers, you must upgrade them within 14 days, regardless of whether or not they have the no-expiration option. If the park hopper has water park options and you use one of those options, you can only upgrade to a premium AP. If it has water park options but you do NOT use them, then you can still upgrade the hopper to a regular AP.

You will also need a government issued id with photo for each adult showing the same address as the member.

I think I have this straight... you can get an additional discount buying tickets now at UT Adult Ticket Scenario works like this buy 6 Day MWY - PH/NE for $366.95..... use the ticket 1 Day and upgrade to DVC AP. Disney will credit you $390.86 back (ticket plus tax) saving you $23.91 per ticket! If you do this previuos to this weeks "expected" ticket increase you coould potentially get further savings!

Experts I got that right .... correct?
