I am having a brain fade... What is the name of the talking tree that walks around talking to people? Also, where do you "usually" find her? I have some friends going who are concentrating most of their time at AK and I wanted to get this info to them...
Thanks!

Her name is Devine. The last time I was there (Dec 2002) she was on the walk between Asia and Africa. Around 10am in the morning. I was told she does not come out in the afternoon

Are you sure it's Devine? I have never seen her but I thought she didn't talk? Also, there is a talking tree called Wes Palm at AK but I haven't seen him either.

The talking tree is Wes Palm. Devine doesn't talk.

In July we were at AK waiting for the gate to open. The talking tree came out and entertained the crowd while we waited. It was REALLY funny.

AK is my DH's favorite park so we always visit it 3-4 times when we are at WDW and we've never seen Devine or Wes Palm. I am going to have to pay more attention and try to find them in April!

We have never been to AK, is it a person walking around in a tree costume?

Her name is Devine and we just returned from a trip to WDW yesterday, the 6th, and we saw her at the AK during our trip. I believe it was on the morning of the 4th but I am not 100% sure of the date. The point is that I did just recently see her. I have seen her in in Asia once on a prior trip and this trip I saw her on the walkway that leads from Asia to Africa.

It is a woman on stillts(sp?) dress in a vine costume with her face painted green. She usually blends in with surrounding trees and then moves and freaks people out. Once people figure out what she is than a line usually forms for pictures. I have seen her twice but have never heard her speak.

The tree I am talking about definitely talked... So, is Devine a lady dressed as vines and Wes Palm a tree who walks around and talks? The tree I saw was right by the opening when we went in...

I think you are thinking about Was Palm. I once saw a talking tree outside of the AK during the morning. They have characters outside of the AK alot during the morning. I did not realize that the talking tree had a name. So, yes, Devine is a woman dressed as vines and Wes Palm is the talking tree that seem to pop up around the entrance to the park.

Thanks!! Now instead of telling them to watch for a talking tree... I can tell them to watch for a talking tree AND a moving vine!!:bounce:

The tree I saw looked like it was mechanical. It moved all around and did talk to the people who were waiting for the park to open. Obviously someone had to be controlling it and doing the talking, but the tree itself was gliding along. It was not a person walking.

Last time I was at the AK, Wes Palm was a "robotic" tree in a pot that would move around the entrance of AK and entertain before the park opened and Devine has never talked when I have seen her. Really she doesn't have to b/c she is so enchanting!:) I can't wait to see her again. AK is also my favorite park. I have it on my "to do" list at least 2 days of my trip. Enjoy!!:)

On one of our trips to AK we were walking on the street that goes around the Tree of Life to get to Dinoland. People were lined up for the parade along the sides of the street. The street was very empty. All of a sudden out of nowhere came a talking trash can. He cornered my husband and would not let him proceed until my husband did a few things. The last thing my husband had to do was kiss the trash can. I had known there was a talking trash can at Epcot, but did not know there was one. there.

Can anyone tell me where to see a picture of this Wes Palm tree? Thanks!

Wow, MiJo, she's BEAUTIFUL!!! I hope that I get to see her this trip!
