How much am I going to pay in taxes and fees for booking a trip, YHZ to YEG/YYC?

Ballpark is fine!

TIA!

New baby is arriving sometime late October, and this excited Auntie is hoping to go and count his fingers and toes all for herself.. :goodvibes

If Aeroplan taxes are going to be in the $250 range and up, then I should just book with Westjet..and save Aeroplan points for MCO....

TIA again!!

We booked four Airmiles tickets London-Calgary on Westjet back in March and paid roughly $600 for the four of us. We used 6400 miles and as it would have cost us upwards of $2500 if we'd had to shell out the entire amount, we were quite happy with what we got.

As many of the taxes and fees are fixed and not based on the length of the flight, your numbers shouldn't be a lot different.

Pretty much the same as Mike, we booked 4 tix through Aeroplan for our trip to Orlando in May and it was $500 and change out of pocket.

We booked from St. John's to Orlando and the fees/taxes came out to be $157.01 each. This included the $34.50 charge for calling aeroplan. If we didn't have to call and booked on line we wouldn't have been charged the $34.50. If you can do it at all, I would recommend booking online. If we had to book actual tickets instead of on points it would have been around $1600 for three of us. I wish I could get those DING airfares!!! We have to book a year in advance in order to use Aeroplan from NL!!

I just got back from BC last week. I flew from Halifax to Vancouver with an aeroplan ticket and it cost in the $60 range ($64 maybe).

Thanks all! :thumbsup2 Much appreciated!

I did not realize there was a fee to call Aeroplan to book a reward flight. However, if you are having them search for routes not showing online I think it may be N/C.

When searching for December from YYZ, I though the taxes and fees were going to be around $100/Ticket. If you want to fly an alliance parnter there may only be a security fee of $10-$20.
