My step-mother and I are doing a quick trip to Disney the week after my family trip. We are flying in. She bought into some sort of THING where she gets 3 free nights at some Orlando hotel, and after a 1 hr presentation she gets 2 free DW tickets. SWA's super cheap tickets were selling out quickly ($59 each way) so we gambled and bought them. If that free hotel stay isn't available for that weekend, we have to find somewhere to stay. I have an AP, my step-mom is really really budget-minded (will only pay her half of a $32/night hotel). We will have no rental car. I have half a mind to just make up the difference and stay somewhere nicer... its a vacation, lol.

Any ideas where would be a good place to stay? I called to check for AP discounts at WDW resorts but they said their system is down for at least a few hours. So I am biding my time, looking at DTD hotels. Don't know where to look, really!!

HELP! Where would you choose, and why? And anyone ever heard of this free hotel thingy? They get this free stay in several different places, but had to do Orlando first apparently.

What about POP? If you can get a good ap rate then you'll be on property with good bus service etc!!
I've heard of what she bought..is it for a time share?

Enjoy your 2 free days in the parks!!

I don't know if it is timeshare or what. she said they paid a fee, and get these 3 night stays in a bunch of cities' hotels. They have to send in their requested dates, with a backup date, and they get a response (supposedly, lol). We sent in for 4/9-4/12 and the last weekend in April, but have gotten no answer yet (its only been 4 days, but its a looooong 4 days, especialyl when SWA published the rates on day3, lol.)

Part of me wants to go for a moderate (but then WITH the AP discount that I may or may not get), she will only pay her $20/night (half of the $32 hotel + tax, I imagine.) I would be coughing up the extra $ which would really add up. So Value is a possibility, or somewhere in DTD. I would do Priceline, but what if we ended up in a hotel without continuous shuttles?? We will have no car!

Thanks! Keep ideas coming!

Beth
