When we (my DH and I) were there in Dec. we fell in love with Les Chefs French Onion soup. We are going again in May (YEAH!!) but this trip will be "budget" trip so there will not be any TS this trip. My ?? is can I found this good soup anywhere at a CS and is it as good as Les Chefs??

Also I was thinking of us getting some kid's meals at some of the CS. Can anyone recommend some good ones?

Thanks so much in advance for your responses!!

I can empathize with your soup dilemma, but unfortunately that particular version of french onion is not available anyplace else but Chefs.

They do have the $20 3-course lunch, I don't know if that's in the budget but maybe book a late one and then resign yourselves to a 'snack' dinner for that day late in the evening?

As for adults eating kids' meals, they won't bat an eye at you ordering them in most CS locations. I often eat kids' CS meals when travelling without the DDP, just because I want a lighter meal.

Hi

Grand Floridian Cafe do a good French Onion soup....not sure if lunch there would be much less than lunch in France though.

I hear the kids meal in the Mexican CS is pretty good.

Thanks for all of your responses!! I thought about having just the soup and dessert but wasn't sure if that was okay at TS. Never gone in to a TS and just had dessert or appty before.
We have done the lunch special before. This might be a possibility if we can walk in. I do not want to have to make ADRs on this trip.

When I was there for lunch last May, two ladies came in, sat next to me, and ordered just the onion soup and a dessert. The waiter didn't bat a lash. I was on the DxDDP, so ordered three courses. They got the same service I did.:rotfl:

The TS restaurants are OOP too so you can order whatever you like just as at a regular restaurant for OOP. Want three apps. and a drink? Two desserts? As long as you are paying the bill they do not care.

Enjoy your soup and have fun! :)
