Queues at Gatwick?

Anyone been through Gatwick south terminal recently? Just wondering how long we should allow to get through security.

I went through October 8th and it took maybe 30mins maximum. The queue looked horrendous when we got there but the staff were being very efficient so it didn't take as long as it looked.

Only ever flown out of Gatwick once, Xmas before last. I said never again, checkin was 90 mins, I thought Manchester was a dirty airport until I went to Gatwick, what a dump. Hopefully they have inmproved it recently, security was no problem 10 mins for us, it was check in what was the nightmare.

Got back for WDW on thurs and on the 16 Oct it was dead quiet when i checked in, only one family infront of me and my freind for Virgin, never got really busy, the queue for POTC was longer! lols! we wher checkied in within 5 mins! either way you should still get there atleast 3 hours before the flight for the reasons you stated, like ecurity etc.

we went through on 11th of October for the 10:45 Virgin flight with no problems at all - took maybe 10/15 minutes. Maybe we were lucky but it was nowhere near as bad as I imagined it would be.

Hey!

My parents flew to Tampa from Gatwick this morning (without me, so unfair that I have to work ). Spoke to them waiting for their flight and they said security was ok, maybe half hour max, but their flight got dealyed by 2 hours!!

We went through in September. 5 minutes for check in and 15 minutes maximum for security. It took longer to queue for the loo!

We went through Oct 1st. The line was extremely long, snaking all the way round the terminal, but it moved quicker than I expected and moved along a lot quicker than the line for a flight on Peter Pan!

Thats what it was like for us but it moved so slow. I guess it was because it was Xmas day and minimal staff.
