Queues and Express pass

We are staying at PFB, so will have express pass for our stay at Universal. My daughter is a major Harry Potter fan and wants to do all things HP while we are there. If we use the EP on the HP rides, will we be missing the queues and all their HP content? Is it worth doing the normal queue with her for the rides at least once?

You don’t miss ALL the HP content, but you do miss some pieces. It’s worth it, I think, to go through the regular line during Early Entry when waits will be shorter.

You will miss a lot if you skip the regular lines at FJ and Hagrids. At Gringott's - it depends how they are doing the express line. Sometimes you walk right through the bank and down toward the vaults, other times you skip around the back and upstairs right to the ride platform. If the latter, you miss a bunch. If the former - you see it all.

The only 2 rides you'll miss some stuff would be Forbidden Journey and Gringotts. You'll still see a decent amount. For instance, EP allows you to walk through the bank and see the goblins usually. You won't miss anything with EP for Hippogriff and Hogwarts Express except time in line, so definitely use it there. Ride FJ and Gringotts first with EP, then go back later and go through the standby line to see everything else.

I would recommend going through the full line of Forbidden Journey once, because you get to see so much more of Hogwarts castle.

If you want to see the full queue I'd do it during early entry or in the evening when wait times are low. Have fun!

Hagrid’s doesn’t have a express line so you are getting the whole queue. FJ is only one where you miss parts of queue. Gringotts you get the bank and goblins in express line.
