You guys must be sick of me by now! Just trying to get a good insight into as much as poss lol!

1. Disney quest, what exactly is it? If we land in orlando in the afternoon, good idea to go their in the evening? Get some food from DD then back to our hotel?

2. Vest tops, are they permitted around the parks? Male vests that is!

3. I saw an advert on Disney were people are feeding Jiraffes, jiraffes come over to some sort of jeep in the park the people are in? Is that Ak or BG?

4. Coming out of the parks, is their plenty of transportation back to I Drive hotels? Ive been looking at disney videos on google and outside just looks like a freeway\motorway, especially if we stay quite late?

Thanks, im sure I'll have more soon :thumbsup2

Hi I wouldn't want to help you out with one, as I really dislike Disney Quest, but I am sure that someone will come along soon with a good opinion for you

No problem with vest tops in the parks, DH wears them

This would be at Busch Gardens

Hope this helps, and that someone can fill you in on DQ, as I say I really disliked it there, so would not want to give you my opinions

Disney quest is an indoor amusement arcade with loads of free virtual reality games and amusements. Its not an essential but is nice to try if its wet or you happen to be spending a lot of time in downtown. (we went in last year for the first time after doing last day down town check in and it whiled away a few hours)
won't answer about vest tops!

The giraffes you saw being fed are definately Busch gardens but you do see plenty if you go over to animal kingdom lodge and wander around, also on the safari at AK but no feeding!
there are plenty of lynx busses back, we've taken them as late as midnight (but admittedly to kissimee not I-drive) you can get a timetable up front on

To be honest the only thing we plan for on our arrival day is getting some food & an early night! Even if you land about 3pm,immigration can take a good 90 mins to get thru, then baggage, getting sorted with your tour rep, 20-25 mins ride from Orlando International/or a good hour from Sanford, check in at the hotel..........If you are set on DQ I would go on a rest day as it's a lot quieter during the day.
Vests are fine nearly every where,I don't even take long trousers any more most places are fairly relaxed.
As far as transport is concerned your Hotel reception will be able to tell you what time the last bus leaves,if you can drive then I would consider hiring a car,all roads either lead to WDW or Universal & makes things alot easier.
If you look at BG website the will give you details of the Safari trip where you feed the animals
HTh SD :thumbsup2

Don't forget that you'll land in Orlando in the afternoon, Eastern Standard Time. As far as I know, there aren't any flights from the UK which land before around 3pm EST. That's 8pm to your body clock and you will have been, most likely, awake since the crack of dawn. By the time you disembark, clear Immigration, Customs and Security, collect your hire car and travel to your accommodation, it's likely to be around 11pm GMT (we do it much quicker these days, but for a first trip, it could easily take that long). You will be exhilarated, but very tired.

You'll be fine in your vest tops, as long as they're not 'French Connection'! The FCUK logo has been banned at WDW.

Most I-Drive hotels offer transportation to and from WDW. I'd hate to have to rely on it - far too restrictive - but I'm sure there are plenty of people who find it satisfactory. You're right about the roads - even those on WDW property are 6-lane highways (i.e. like our motorways), but driving is very straight-forward.

So if we come out of the parks say 9/10pm, is their plenty of taxi cabs around to get back to the hotel?

Yes, but they'll be expensive from WDW to I-Drive. In the region of $30-$40 with the tip, I'd imagine.

I think maybe the extra $$ staying on site maybe alot better?

... or hire a car? Seeing as your planning to do so much in 10 days I think a car would be almost essential.

I would seriously end up killing someone. I'm awful with directions also. :rolleyes1

Maybe next time then. You'll probably change your mind when you see their roads & vehicles - it's so much more :smokin: than the :furious: state of UK travel!

Good luck with your schedule :)

Hi,
My kids (teenagers) love disney quest and is a must do for our next trip. They "built" a rollercoaster on a computer and then were able to ride the one they made on a simulator. We bought the video for it (although some employees weren't sure if it worked in UK - but it does!) and it's really funny. It's much more than an amusement arcade and fun for all the family - we enjoyed it even although I hate amusement arcades! :thumbsup2

We have done Orlando both with a car and without and can honestly say it is fine without a car although maybe not as convenient as having one. We either got a taxi after the fireworks which as far as I remember wasn't too deadly pricewise (although there was 2 families and we split the cost). The other thing we have done is booked a hotel via priceline and on both occasions we have managed to get the Hilton at DTD and used the disney shuttle service to get back to the hotel.
Anyway have a great holiday Linda.

Yes - if you don't want to drive or be restricted to bus shuttle services the extra dollars to have the convenience of endless transportation is a great benefit :thumbsup2

Yes, especially if you book all the elements of your trip separately, rather than a package. Ask us for help - many of us are old hands at all this stuff!

Hey! I resemble that remark! :teeth: I did turn 45 this month, but I look much younger! ;)
