Questions with Jambo and online check-in

Only 15 days until we arrive at Jambo for our first family trip We are renting a 1 bedroom standard view (no availability for savannah view when we booked). My kids are 8, 5 and 3 1/2.

My questions are:

1. Should I do online check-in or just wait until we're there? If so, what can I expect to see as my options when checking in online?

2. Does anyone know where the reclassified standards are located? I've come across the room map so if anyone can provide insight, I would appreciate it. I know it's wishful thinking. In any case, I'd be happy with a pool view room. Just really don't want to get parking lot/bus view.

Standard View at Jambo House will NOT be a of the Parking Lot. The only Parking Lot DVC rooms are in the Value booking category.

In the map linked to below, I've been in 5372 (Reclassified Standard View Studio) and another poster was in 5384 (Reclassified Standard View Studio). Both of these are at the far end of the Kudo Trail.

I've been recording the room numbers of reclassified rooms at Jambo House as people have reported them. Here's what I have so far along with the names of those who provided the information:

Recatagorized Savanna View Rooms:

5203: Studio, Lobby, Sunset side (hansel1)
5228: 1BR, Sunset, over a people pen (P&B's Mom)
5234: 1BR, Sunset, inside corner of first spur, "Fantastic savanna view" (Doug7856)
5238: Dedicated studio by a stairwell, Sunset (Anal Annie)
5257: Studio, Sunset, near inside corner inside first spur, people pen (NHGoofy)
5372: Studio, Sunset, in a corner above the last spur near a "people pen" (erionm)
5384: Studio, Sunset, next to exit stairs at end of Kudu trail (rlduvall)
5528: Studio, Uzima, in a corner next to last spur (b-1)
5543: 1BR, Uzima, in a corner on outside of last spur - not verified
5544: 1BR, Uzima, in a corner on inside of last spur (TwinsFan)
5545: Studio, Uzima, near a corner on outside of last spur (KAT4DISNEY)
5549: 1BR, Far side of last spur off Zebra Trail, near fence between Arusha and Uzima (mousefan1972)

Thank you very much for this info, I really appreciate it. Would I have a better chance at snagging one of these rooms if I don't do the online check in? Or should I do the online check in and then call and make this request? Or because I'm not a member, am I even able to call?

Is this also true at kidani?

No, at Kidani standard view can be view of road/parking areas/bus stop area, the pool area, or a few reclassified savanna view rooms.

OP is you have a request you need to make it through MS. Do not rely on request section in the Disney check-in site.

Since the OP is renting. The owner would need to make the request with MS.

I would be happy to track those as well. I grab the room numbers as people report them. I just don't have any of the Kidani room numbers yet.

There are two reclassified Grand Villas at Kidani. They face the Pembe Savanna in the area where Pembe narrows to about 50 feet from the balconies to the back fence. I suspect any other reclassified rooms are in that same area.

If you booked a Standard View room and can see animals from your balcony, odds are you are in a reclassified room.
