I noticed there wasn't a thread for questions about Disney wedding detail, and as I have some myself that I can't seem to find here or anywhere else on the net, I thought I'd give this a shot!!! But hopefully this will become a thread for everyone to ask questions on! :)

Im on a tight budget, and I was wondering a few things!!

Are the only chairs available the options they show on the main Disney weddings website?

Will they charge for use of the chairs for the ceremony?

I was hoping to hang a kissing ball above the alter location at SBP, will that be possible? I realize this may be a question I get answered by personal experience e, but I was hoping for someone else's!!! Lol

How long do I have the ceremony venue for?

Are live musicians the only option for SBP?

Can I make my own programs?

Will Disney provide ushers? Or can I provide my own???

What are my arrival transportation options for SBP? I really wanted that model A!

If I'm having a wishes wedding, is it possible to have to reception at the same location to save money?

That's all for now I think....

Good morning! My responses are in red. :)

Im on a tight budget, and I was wondering a few things!!

Are the only chairs available the options they show on the main Disney weddings website? I'm not sure about this, but I am fairly certain they could get you whatever you want. However, different chairs come with a HEFTY delivery charge. (It's either $200 or $500, I can't remember.)

Will they charge for use of the chairs for the ceremony?

I'm not sure what you mean. Each chair has a pricetag (the ones I fell in love with were $13.50 a chair---alas, that did not happen---) and a delivery charge and taxes and fees and whatnot. There is no fee beyond that.

I was hoping to hang a kissing ball above the alter location at SBP, will that be possible? I realize this may be a question I get answered by personal experience e, but I was hoping for someone else's!!! Lol

I don't see why not! I haven't seen this done though.

How long do I have the ceremony venue for?

However long your ceremony is. We had a short ceremony, so we didn't have it for very long, but we also weren't cleared out right away. We had plenty of time to take pictures.

Are live musicians the only option for SBP?

No, you can have an ipod setup. You can either rent one from Disney or you can bring your own.

Can I make my own programs?
Sure thing! Your WP may or may not put them out for you--- this is dependent upon your planner and the time of day.

Will Disney provide ushers? Or can I provide my own???

Disney doesn't provide "ushers" per say. There will be someone there to tell your guests where to sit though. You can definitely have your own.

What are my arrival transportation options for SBP? I really wanted that model A!

You can have almost anything you want, including Cindy's coach! We had the Model A Ford at SBP. If you'd like pictures, follow the link to my TR--- they're somewhere in there.

If I'm having a wishes wedding, is it possible to have to reception at the same location to save money?

This wouldn't necessarily save you money. A lot of the reception venues don't have rental fees, just food and beverage minimums. There is a recent disbride who is having her cocktail hour at SBP, but I've never seen a reception there and I have a feeling they'd frown upon it. It's not close to a central kitchen.

Hope that helps!

That's all for now I think....

@DoomBuggy0922

Thanks! I'm super happy to hear that my Model A Ford dreams will be coming true!

The question I had about the chairs, SBP obviously doesn't have chairs for anyone to sit, so am I going to be renting those? Or do they provide them free of charge (lol) I think you answered my question, but i still had to ask because I had looked in some of the budgets and hadn't seen where they were factored in.

The iPod hookup is awesome to know about as well! I hadn't noticed any speakers or anything last time I was there, so I wasn't sure!!! Thanks!!

Hi everyone!

I had some questions regarding accommodation and tickets and the like for guests.

1) If guests book externally (ie. through a travel agent) but still stay at one of the resorts you block book rooms at, does this count towards your room block and do they consequently still get discount?

2) If so, how is this worked out if it's all done externally? Would they get refunded the difference through the travel agent? Through Disney?

3) How much discount is typically secured on room rates? Park tickets?

4) Once you sign your contract etc, I've heard of websites being set up? Is this done by Disney or by you? Can accommodation and tickets be booked through here?

Thanks for this!

just a thought - this whole board is pretty much questions! :goodvibes there is a seperate thread/board category for trip reports as well, but you can post all your questions or whatnot as the actual question - thats what people come here and stay around here for! i worry that others that post after you are going to get lost because people mostly will look for questions they know the answers to in your actual post.:thumbsup2

just my 0.02

I agree with Sambycat! :goodvibes You are more likely to get answers to individual questions posted in separate threads than a huge list of questions in a single thread. Also, as she pointed out, it will be more helpful to other users who might have the same questions in the future. :thumbsup2

They can stay at ANY Disney resort and have it count toward your room-night requirement, but you will have to give their reservation numbers to DFTW yourself. They will not get your wedding discount unless they book through your wedding room block though.

3) How much discount is typically secured on room rates?

The exact discount varies by season, but you can usually figure on about 30% off at Deluxe resorts with convention centers, 15% off at other Deluxes, less than 15% at Moderates and less than 10% at Values.

Park tickets?

$20 off any park hopper ticket.

Disney will give you access to a Facebook-based website that you set up. Supposedly guests can buy tickets and book through it, but you sometimes hear of problems with that feature.

Thanks Carrie! I've just invested in your Passporter book which has pretty much answered all my questions! Thanks!!
