Questions - taking a 9 month old.

We're going on our first cruise with a DD next year who will then be 9 months old. I was wondering if there are any restrictions on taking her into the Skyline Bar etc? If so where will she be allowed?

Can I take her into the theatre and cinema?

Most of the lounges are 18+. That means no babies. Some of the lounges allow everyone until 9:00 pm then it's 18+ only. Skyline is an 18+ only venue.

You can take her anywhere on the ship/Castaway Cay that doesn't have the 18+ limit. Yes, this includes the theaters. Although there might be an issue with any adult rated movies in the Buena Vista.

The specific information for what areas are 18+ are listed in the Navigator.

Off topic, but is there a policy where there might be a pg-13 movie and a 6 year old walks in. Can a cm remove them. Really makes me wonder.

Considering 6 year olds CAN go to PG-13 movies, but kids CANNOT go into bars in most places, that's hardly an apt comparison.

Agree! If I had my youngest DS in a PG-13 movie and a CM told me he couldn't be there, we'd definitely be having words as that is not illegal for kids under 13 to see movies with a PG-13 rating. But back to the bars!

Also, all the new Star Wars movies are PG-13, so you would have issues with 8 year olds buying Kylo Ren stuff if you banned them from watching...

Totally agree! But according the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), kids still can see R rated movies. All I can say to that is, "oh dear"

• G — General audiences. All ages admitted.
• PG — Parental guidance suggested. Some material may not be suitable for children.
• PG-13 — Parents strongly cautioned. Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13.
• R — Restricted. Children under 17 require accompanying parent or adult guardian.
• NC-17 — No one 17 and under admitted.

To the OP, I wouldn't hesitate to take my 9-mo baby to a movie showing if a) baby would sleep through it b) I found a seat where I could quickly exit if baby became fuss (and I would make quick use of the exit). I know that they do show the evening shows on the TV (not the exact show--it's not a live taping) so that might be a option if you don't want to try doing the evening show with the baby. Otherwise, we certainly wouldn't hesitate to take cruise with an infant. We did WDW with a newborn, a cruise would've been infinitely easier
