I am in the process of planning a trip "home" in Nov '02 and for the first time considering BW and WL (OKW is our primary DVC home).

Questions:

1) Does anyone have any experience with the kids programs offered at BW/WL? If so, please share your thoughts on the experiences you had (our youngest is 8, the others are outside the age limit noted for the programs).

2) Which of the resorts (BW or WL) do you believe is more "kid friendly" (ages: 8, 17, 18, 42(kid at heart))?

3) The kid at heart listed in 2) above is turning 43 on the trip-any ideas on celebrating a 43 year old kid's birthday at Disney?

Thanks in advance for you thoughts.

We stay at BWV and our DS loves Community Hall. Several activities are scheduled everyday. He loves the CM's there also. He sends and rec's regular e-mails from one. The pool there is great with many other kids to meet. There is also a lot of activity on the Boardwalk. DS is now 11 and he loves the free games at Comm. Hall. There is a quiet pool right outside so while we hang out by the pool he goes inside.

Our oldest DS turned 21 on a visit to BWV. We let them know at check in and they had lanyard with a BWV pin attached to a Balloon and bday card autographed by Goofy waiting in the villa on his bday.

I think your 17 & 18 yo would like the freedom to come and go very easily at BWV. Most teens like MGM (TOT & RnRC) and Epcot (Innoventions & TT) very much and both of these parks are within walking distance. There is also a lot of night time activities on the boardwalk that teens enjoy, ESPN appeals to teens and there are numerous places to grab a quick bite to eat in this area. Either resort is wonderful though. Enjoy!

I also think BWV may be your best bet here. DeeP summed it up nicely so I won't get repetitive.

But if you are in the WL area on a birthday, you might want to have a meal at the Whispering Canyon restaurant. Just tell the server that it's someone's birthday and then step back. Note: don't do this to anyone who would like to enjoy a nice, anonymous birthday meal! ;)
