Questions regarding Busch Gardens (Tampa)

We've never been to B.G., but are interested in going soon.

Is there a better day to go, meaning not as crowded? Are there attractions for young children? Good places to eat at the park?

What about hotels nearby?

Any info given will be appreciated. Thanks!

Best time to go is in the middle of the week. Less locals. BGT is a VERY popular park with the locals. There is rides for the kids, and some decent eateries in the park. There is also a plethora of fast food joints just outside the park also. You also will find some decent hotels nearby offering good rates...My fav is the Wingate Inn.

We were there on a 70ish sunny Sunday jsut last month....and though it was busy I didn't find it overly crowded. I suppose a weekday would be better if that is an option for you. Our DD is not young anymore (17) but she did ride the carousel ...there is a lot for young children.
We had lunch in the cafeteria-style restaurant (I foget the name) that is currently hosting the "Irish Thunder" show at intervals during the day. We timed it just right to get a seat, get our food, adn eat during the performance. Great food, very enjoyable show.
We waited in the longest line for the water-raft ride, adn the safari...but neither of those were more than 25 minutes. everything else we just walked in/on....but DD and DH only did one of the many thrill coasters, so I don't know what the lines were like for those.
We hada great day at the park, it had been 10 years since our last visit.
I love the safari and the Clydesdale Barn

We're thinking about going on a Thursday and/or Friday, I hope it won't be too crowded. The kids don't know it yet. Maybe we'll get Fun Passes, not sure though.

Any other tips?
