We're planning on going to DLP next year and would like to use our points for our room.

1. Can we use them for a room for a family of 5?

2. Are we able to book the dining plan without booking a package?

TIA for any help you can offer. It will be our first time going there.

Do you mean Disneyland Resort (DLR)? If so, are you going to stay at the Villas at the Grand Californian (VGC), or use your points to book a stay at one of the hotels? Your lowest point option is going to be VGC, but it tends to book up quickly so you'll want to jump on booking at exactly 7 months.

For #1, the one-bedrooms at the Villas can handle 5 people. The Paradise Pier rooms all handle 5, and many of the Disneyland Hotel rooms do as well.

On #2, there's no dining plan at DLR, so no real issue there.

Hope that helps!

I am assuming the OP meant Disneyland Paris.

OP, I can't answer your questions, but hope someone else can.

We stayed at the Hipark Seris when we visited DLP. It was within walking distance to DLP (about 20 minutes) and we really enjoyed it. One word of warning...they offer a shuttle but the HPS is the last stop so it often comes by full. We chose to walk instead but you could also drive if you will have a car.

I was referring to Paris. I'll checkout the link. I thought I might need to call MS, but I figured I would ask to see if anyone else had any experience with it. :thumbsup2

The meal plan at DLP is often not seen ad a great value.

The resort is going to start a renewal program for many of the hotels. In case you decide to book with your points, it's better to double check if the hotel will undergo a refurbishment during your stay.
The first hotel that is going a refurbishment will be the Newport Bay Club, but I don't know when it will start.

Points charts are awful for DLP. I would suggest to have a look at the online offers as well. Package prices include lenght of stay tickets, that you would have to buy for a point reservation.

Most of the hotels have only rooms for 4 people. Only two hotels have rooms for 6:
- Santa Fe: it's a value resort (New Mexico themed)
- Disneyland Hotel: it's the flagship resort, very similar to the Grand Floridian (but it's pink instead of white). It's just above the entrance of the park and very convenient. And VERY expensive. All other resorts are still at walking distance to the park (5-15 minutes walk).

I don't think you can book rooms for 6 using points, but it's better to ask to MS.
