Hi, has anyone stayed here recently? My son and I just switched our ressies here from the Coronado Springs Resort. I read the reviews on Tripadvisor about the Hilton and they were so-so. My son is worried he won't have any "Disney magic" and I'm worried about the cleanliness of the rooms. Also, parking seemed to be an issue - there weren't enough spaces; I'm renting a car, will I have trouble find a parking space?

Any info. you could give me would be appreciated.

Thanks!

We are leaving for the Hilton this evening. I'll post a review when we come back next week. I too almost booked CSR but we are only doing 1 day at Epcot this trip so off site for us.:flower3:

We've stayed 1x at the Hilton (2 adults) about 2 yrs ago and found the room to be clean. Unless things have gone drastically downhill, I don't think you'll have a problem. They have some nice shops and dining in the lobby along with a Starbucks which we dropped by to get coffee last year when we were going to DTD.

About the parking, yes, at times it tends to get crowded. Although, we didn't have a problem finding one. It was just further away. There's a back entrance to this hotel. The worst experience for us was the Sheraton, there was absolutely nothing. DH had to get a security person who got in our car and had us park in a loading area.

I have stayed there. Housekeeping was at LEAST as good as CSR. (OK better, at CSR they gave me dirty glasses. Hilton didn't LOL!)

I am pretty much over "magic". I don't find being ripped off for a hotel at all magical LOL! So you are getting a much nicer hotel for the same price.

(Read those CSR reviews on Trip Advisor not all of them are glowing either!)

Thank you all!! I'm feeling better (especially after what CarolA said). Tiggersmyguy, please let me know your experience when you return. Have a great time!

I've stayed there a couple times, and absolutely loved the place. Especially for the price. The location is awesome! I loved being able to walk to Downtown Disney.
I've also stayed at Coronado Springs a couple times, which is good, but more motel-like. The Hilton is 4-star hotel-like. And the food in the Italian restaurant at the Hilton is REALLY good. (though not cheap).

Go and ENJOY! :thumbsup2

My family and I stayed there during the holiday season, and got a great rate on a "towers room". It included a continental breakfast, cookies, and evening snacks, which were almost meal-like to us. We loved it! My son still talks about how comfy the beds were there!

The location is great, there's plenty of room in the lobby if you just want to sit and read and relax away from the room, and the pools looked very nice as well. I would definitely return there if I had the chance, especially for a great rate! I too, am over the "magic" that IMHO is over-priced and underwhelming at times. I did enjoy the places on property we've stayed at, but unless there is some kind of really great deal, we'll usually find a condo off-site for the price of one night in the moderates (that's for a whole week too!).

My husband and I got to WDW a day early and tried to rent a room from WDW but were told it was completely filled. I asked about the DTD hotels and they said they had a room at the Hilton. Thy could not tell me if the room was non-smoking so I asked for the hotel telephone number and I called them myself. They had a junior suite that was non-smoking and we booked it for $208.00. You do have to pay for parking and I think that was $7.00 a day. That kind of surprised me. We loved our room and it was the most comfortable bed. I used the work-out room for 2 days and it was very nice too. I bought 2 bagallini bags in the gift shop and used them everyday on out trip. Next year we are going to spend our first day at the Hilton.

We spent 2 nights there with our 2 younger kids last April pre-cruise. the hotel was very clean, the room was large enough for 2 adults and 2 teens, and the location was great. There is very little Disney "magic" in the hotel as far as the decor is concerned, but I would definitely stay there again. The pool area was great, and our kids spent most of their time there :).

We stayed there (2 adults 2 teens). We all loved the place and wish we had been able to stay more than one night. The rooms are not huge, but they have an extra sink just outside the bathroom which was ideal for us. We were upgraded to concierge level because of our Hilton Honors status. The breakfast and evening snacks were great. We took advantage of the extra magic hours and went to the parks around 4:30 PM staying until 2 AM (this was in July). LOVED it! No crowds, no heat, no sun! I spent some time wandering around the lobby and shops and really thought everything there was top notch. And the beds truly are incredibly comfortable. We were able to find parking, actually quite close to the back door.

We just came back last night. I was quite happy with our stay. My husband is a Hilton Honors Diamond level so we were upgraded to a towers room. While it is convenient to have the continental breakfast and snacks, I don't know that I would pay the extra for a towers room, just my opinion. That being said, we did eat breakfast one morning at the Covington Mill at the hotel, pretty pricey. They offer a breakfast buffet for $20 each or off the menu. I don't do buffets so we ordered off the menu, very slow service doing this.:confused3 We went to the pools one afternoon, they were fine just be prepared to hunt for a chair. People get the towels, leave them on the chair, come back to dry off and then leave the towel on the chair and just leave. We saw that alot. The rooms were very clean, I'm a clean bathroom freak and they were great. Housekeeping was well done, I also tip every day, don't know if that helps or not. The parking was no problem at all, even when we got in the 1st night at 11pm. Yes the lot is big but it's a big hotel. They do charge $8 plus tax per night to park. The hotel location was awesome, it is only about a 5 minute walk across the street to DTD. Loved that.:thumbsup2

To the folks who have stayed at Hilton recently, did you attend EMH? I'm wondering how it works now that Disney is no longer doing wristbands, and Hilton guests don't have a KTTW?

We did morning EMH at Epcot. All I had to do was show my Hilton room key, no problem.:flower3:

Tiggersmyguy, thank you so much for the info. We are arriving at the Hilton this Sunday, 4/12, and your review has made me feel much better. I was really concerned about the bathrooms, they have to be clean! I think the location is going to be great also. I put in for an upgrade to club level mainly because I will have a 6 yo with me and she doesn't eat much for breakfast and I figured she could have a muffin, etc. for breakfast. I've been reading the threads about how bad the crowds are. I'm just going to go and roll with it and have a good time!
