I had a stroke 2 years agi and have some mobility issues. Have made arrangements to rent an ECV from a company that delivers to the POP but I have a few questions.

1. Can you get an ECV on a ferry (i.e. from TTA to MK or From Boardwalk to
Epcot or HS?

2. Can they go on Monorails?

3. Is there handicapped parking at MK and if so how do you get to it?

Thank you all for your input. This is my first trip as a person with a disability and I am nervous about it.

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

Almost all Disney Transportation is accessible for wheelchairs and ECVs. The only exceptions are some (not all) of the smaller boats involving Fort Wilderness, the Polynesian, and the Grand Floridian.

There is no parking, handicap or otherwise, at the MK. All parking for the MK is at the TTC.

At the TTC once you start getting to the parking areas you will see a sign showing going either to the right or left of the first tram lane to get to disabled parking.

At AK once past the toll plaza just stay to the right all the way to get to disabled parking.

And for DHS and Epcot just make sure the tag is visible and follow the directions of the people directing traffic.

The only thing that I have to add is that if you have a handicapped parking hang tag for your vehicle at home, then bring it with you. Unless you have either a handicapped license plate or a hang tag they won't allow you to park in the handicapped parking area and if you do without one of the two items allowing you to park there they will ticket you.

Don't worry too much about getting around WDW while in a ECV, it is one of the best and easiest places to get around. They tend to bend over backwards to help you.

If you do not have tag you can tell the CMs that are working the parking area and tell them you have an ECV, they have some spaces saved that are not handicap, but are in that area. They will after all see you getting onto your EVC so you should not have any trouble. It is my understanding that they have these spots for people that can not use the trams, but it has been our experiance that there is more walking to the gates from these areas because the trams do not run there.

You will find more complete information about parking, using the monorails and other transportation in the disABILITIES FAQs thread (including some pictures).

You can find the disABILITIES FAQs thread near the top of this board or follow the link in my signature to get there. Post #1 of that thread is an index that will help you to find the information you are looking for.
