Questions Re: dvc rent/trade site please help!!

I am a first time user on the rent/trade site, and I really only want to either sell my points for the current year, or transfer them to another dvc member. If I don't bank my points by Nov. 30, 2008, I will lose part of them, but if I bank the entire amount, will I be able to transfer or sell them? If I interpretated the rules correctly, I can only rent my points to a non-member, which makes me responsible for making their reservation. If this is the case then I truly just want to transfer them to another dvc member's account. If this happens, I won't have to worry about any of the possible problems with reservation cancellations, etc.. am I correct?? One last thing, I already submitted my thread for posting stating: Points for rent/trade. How do I change that to: Points for Transfer, if I'm still waiting for approval of my thread?

The critical piece of info you left out is your Use Year. You can bank ALL of your points at any time during the first EIGHT months of your UY. After that, you can't bank any of them. You cannot transfer banked or borrowed points, but you could rent them. Borrowing points for a rental reservation would be a very risky idea, IMHO.

That's correct, because a) a non-member would not have an account to transfer points into, and b) MS will only talk to members, so they'd have no way to make ressies.

That's correct. When you transfer, those points then belong to the person you transferred them to. You have nothing to do with anything after the point transfer is completed.

It looks like your thread has already posted to the board. If you would rather offer to ONLY transfer points you'll need to CLOSE the thread already validated (open the thread, select "Edit" at the lower right corner - then select "Go Advanced" - then edit the original title by adding "CLOSED" as the first word in the title) and then submit another thread with the title "Points for Transfer"). The software will then "see" that you have closed the thread and it will be automatically locked. You can then submit a new thread.
