Questions re: AP and Genie +

My understanding is that there is a known glitch happening for APs with G+.

Can anyone help me understand what is happening and current workarounds? I want to update the new post with this information and need clarification.

1. Can APs purchase G+ at midnight like other guests can?
2. If not, when can they purchase G+?
3. If someone has guests with a combination of APs and regular tickets on their MDE, can they purchase G+ for all at the same time?
4. If not, how is it done?

I am definitely interested in recent experiences/responses to these questions. My understanding is the glitch occurs when an AP is traveling with others who have regular tickets with G+ pre-purchased for length of stay. In this scenario, the system does not present the option to purchase G+ to the AP at midnight (thinks everyone in the traveling party is "all set"). However, I have seen reports that when the AP attempts to make a G+ LL selection at 7am, the system will then prompt them to purchase G+ to complete the selection. Unfortunately, when seconds count, this can put them behind for securing high demand G+ attractions like SDD. It seems like the presence of regular tickets with G+ pre-purchased is the issue.
From other reports it seems APs can purchase starting at midnight if they are only traveling with other APs, or traveling with people who have not yet purchased G+ in advance.
 
1. Yes AP’s can purchase G+ at midnight. This is true if everyone in your party has an AP.

3. Okay so this is what I gathered. If you are an AP and are managing regular tickets that have G+ pre purchased for the entire length of ticket, the app will not allow you to buy G+ for anyone who has an AP. This happened on my visit last weekend. At 6:30 am I called Disney and they added it manually for me. I put this number in my phone as Disney Genie+…(407) 939-4357. I was never on hold for longer than a few minutes (I believe this is a specific number to manage such issues)

4. I’m not sure if this will work, but I believe the answer is to NOT pre-purchase G+ with the regular tickets. When you buy it the morning of it should (in theory) allow you to buy it for everyone regardless what kind of ticket they have. Have not tried this personally but someone might be able to confirm.

If you have problems purchasing G+ for anyone they will tell you to log out of the app, delete it, and reinstall. Didn’t work for me so I had to call every morning.

Others in the party with daily tickets and Genie+ included does seem to be the situation that triggers this issue.

In our family, I am the only one of 6 with an AP. The others have all had daily tickets when they have been along, but none of them have ever purchased Genie+ in advance.

On two different trips, one in November and one over Marathon weekend, we have purchased same day Genie + on several different days and I have always been able to include anyone else in the party who was going to a park that day and complete the purchase in one transaction.
