Hi again Guys,

I wonder if you would be so kind as to let me pick your brains AGAIN and/or let me have your thoughts?!

Question 1!
How long do you have to have left on your passport when travelling to the US? My passport expires in Oct 2008 and we tavel in Jan 2008, will this be OK, I presumed the amount of time required would be 6 months?

2. Does anyone have any tips for us as we are travelling UC with Virgin for the first time and I would prefer it if we didn't look like a bunch of dimwits :rotfl: at the airport!!!!! Is there a seperate line for us to check in etc?? I can't picture what else we might do differently?!?! :confused3

3. And still on the point of UC, have you ever flown UC with little ones? I am hoping that on our return flight our LO's will sleep?? but don't know how likely this is?? We are seated at the very front of UC, so we are away from any activity, our eldest will be 4 and I'm hopeful she will sleep but our little one will be nearly 2 and sharing a seat with me, is there any hope of us both getting some shut eye?? My Mum, Dad and DH are travelling too so I am hoping that one of us will be awake at times to keep an eye on our LO's sleeping....... Sounds like I am doing a lot of hoping...... I guess I'd just like to hear of your experiences!

Thanks in advance,

Ali. :surfweb:

Hi Ali,
Have a read of this thread, might help you, links in there for confirmation.
With visa waiver program the official US advise is a valid passport, does not matter how long left on it, its the airlines that state 3 months or 6 months etc.

Sorry cant help with U/C, We would rather do 4 trips a year ecomomy than 1 trip U/C.

VA's policy for passports is the same as the US ie valid for length of stay. As for UC yes seperate checkin and priority boarding along with the Clubhouse :)

Hi you'll need a minimum of 6 months on your passport after your return to the UK, if that makes sense, not from the date you fly out of the UK.

As far as UC goes, there's the separate check-in and also a Fast-Track lane through security - ask a yellow-vested BAA employee if you can't see it as, with the queues through security at the moment, it's hard to spot. Once through, you can head to the Virgin Clubhouse (you'll get an invite and directions when you check-in) where there are plenty of seating areas for BOs and LOs. ;) You can order complimentary food and drinks, plus if you feel like indulging yourself, you can pre-book online a beauty treatment (limited to one per person but also free) from this selection...

Once onboard, you'll have a great time as there's so much space. When the seat's turned into a bed, I should think there would be room for you and your baby to snuggle and sleep, tho' I don't know what the seatbelt arrangements would be. You could also sit on the footstool and install the LO in the main part of the seat - there are some options at least. Have a great time... :thumbsup2
