Hi! I'm interested in DVC in a HUGE way. However, I'm still in the pitching phases to BF...I have the video and have been doing some serious searching for info online...thats how I ended up here. A couple of questions...
1. What are these "over 300" places to see and go? They showed a couple of them on the video but I would like to see the whole list if possible...or if you could list places you've been that would be great too.

2. HOw many minimum points to I need? We aren't married (yet-and the prospects for that are pretty good...some maybe I need something to grow into???) I was thinking 250 points -I love to travel and he is getting into it. But now are those points per person or just per room??? I can see with a bigger villa or something we would need to use more points...but if/when we have kids we would need that...+ he at some point wants to bring his mother!!! :sad2: love her dearly...dont know if we would travel well...but hey! What are you going to do...

3. How many points for a cruise on DCL or even the Alaskan Cruise...we did DCL about 1 1/2-2 years ago and loved it! but I can also see where what we paid for that trip-if we were to do 4 trips DVC would pay for itself.

4. Does any of this include airfare-or are you on your own when getting there? (I'm assuming so)

5. How hard is it to get into Saratoga Springs as the home hotel that you are in?

All of your help is greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks!

hi! i am fairly new to this also....just bought last week. I can help answer a few questions though.... Saratoga Springs is the only resort Disney is selling now...so yes your home resort will be SSR...( unless you buy a resale into another resort) You can call the number for DVC and they will answer any questions that you have...no strings...no pressure and they can also let you know of any incentives they are offering. They can also send you a catolog that has different resorts and the points ( per room...not per person) and the other places you can go...believe there all plenty! ( too many to name).

we bought 200 pts ( family of 4...$$$$) hoping to add more later. Also found this site to be a great source of info...these guys are very helpful... some have owned many years. I think if you are really serious, give them a call! My guides name is Tony Heard, he is very nice and layed back...i promise he will just answer your questions and not make you feel pressured. Good luck!!

Thanks...ok one more question...
How much does it cost to add on more points? Does that get added into my "mortage" sort-to-speak???

Well, right now, they are offering an incentive for adding on. If you add on 120 points, you get your 2005 dues paid for and 100 one time only bonus points.
I had been thinking about this also, but want to wait until I have a little of my first contract paid off.

But how much are those 120 extra points? :earboy2:

I could see purchasing 150 points to start...at SSR it doesnt seem like it would be too bad...but how much for cruises? And if I needed more points how much for those?
OH and can you add your "dues" into your monthly payments???
:badpc: I can't find any of this in my computer!!!

Thanks for the help...before I pitch this to BF I need all the info! You should see it when we plan a trip...its rough to say the least!!! :rotfl2: but he goes anyway...

yes you can add the dues into your payments, although i do think it comes out as 2 diffrent alotments...you don't have to payment them at one time. My guide told me that if you do an add on before your closeing, then they lump it all into one. If you do it later, then you have to pay for that seperate. ( i don't think they just add it to the loan you already have...if that is what your asking)
The incentive i got last week for a new sale was $8.00 off per point..bringing the cost per point to $87.00 ( they are going for $95.00 per point) and disney also pays for the 2005 dues. So once your payments start...it will just be for the loan amount. I bought last week, making my user year Sept. That's when my payments start. Closing only takes a few weeks and everything can be done by mail. Once you put your down payment, they will fedex your papers and your member book and some other freebies. and you return it in the fedex envelope they provide. The hard part is deciding how many points to buy....as they say here...you can't have too many! I hope this makes sense to you. I still get confused!!!
