Questions on the 24 hour event in May

I didn't go see any of the movies playing, so I don't know how those went or how easy it was to just pop in or out while they were running. I didn't find the ride schedule to be terribly problematic, but I have to admit by early morning I was pretty tired and not really inclined to be running from ride to ride. My family normally hops between the parks, so we hopped during the event. I've never done the parks in any specific sequential order (e.g., clockwise), so it's not how I would generally think to tour. We go to the rides we like best and bounce around the parks sometimes in response to attraction lines and often in response to food!

Does this event require a different park pass or does a regular 1 day park pass allow access to MK from 6-6?
As far as I know, WDW is using the same system as DLR. They are defining the operating day as starting at 6:00 am on Friday and ending at 6:00 am on Saturday. So as long as you have a valid ticket for the Magic Kingdom, you will be able to enter throughout the operating day. Unlike DLR (for which both DL and DCA are participating), as far as I can tell, only MK is participating in the 24-hour day at WDW.

How much of a probability might there be that you may stay an additional night or two or three? :)
Unfortunately, pretty unlikely considering that our hotel is sold out of our room type for Saturday night. So, if we added a day, we'd have to switch to a different room for just the one night.
