Hi to all,
On May 30th I will finally have 1250 points at MyPoints. I have read that the GC will be increasing to 1350 as of June 1st and want to cash out for a web certificate on May 30th to avoid having to acquire an additional 100 pints before having enough to get a GC or WebCert. My question is this: Is there an expiration date on web certificates? The reason I ask is becuase I would like to hold off on cashing in the webcert for a gift cert to Simon Malls until I can acquire a higher dollar value to purchase D$ at the Disney store. I have learned from someone else's post that Simon charges $2.95 for S&H on its GC so if I use the $10. web cert now it would leave me with only $5.95 and I don't even think they offer that amount for a GC to the mall. I don't think I want to purchase a plastic webcert card for $6.95 at tis pint because I don't know if I will use it this way again vs just purchasing GC.
Thanks,
Figment

You will need to go ahead and redeem the webcert and start an account. They only give you about 2 weeks to cash it in. But, once it is in the account, it doesn't expire for about a year.

Let me see if I am understanding this correctly. I will request a web cert at mypoints site and then once I get a web cert I will open an account at webcertificates.com and this will stay active for a year. With an account a will be able to continue to add to it?

Exactly! The money will stay in your account and you can continue to add more webcerts from ANY of the programs or any of your family members all into the one account. Also, everytime you add to it, it will extend the experation date.

Sorry, one more question (hopefully). Where exactly to you go (website addyress) or telephone to open an account? Can I open one now before I request the webcert from MyPoints?

webcertificate.com is the webcert site. You don't need to open an account before you redeem for one. There will be a link in the email that they send you to click on and then you can open the account. If you read my last post on Kaye's webcertificate thread, it will walk you through the process of cashing in and opening an account.
