questions on bringing coolers on board

I just got my docs today for my 2/8/03 Magic cruise. I was surprised, I wasn't expecting them for another week or two.

I have a question though, It states very clearly that coolers are not allowed, nor can you check through in your luggage any liquids. Is this a new policy, as I had read here previously many people bringing soft sided coolers with them, as well as checking through 12 packs of pop.

I have not purchased one of those coolers yet, although I had planned to, so information would be greatly appreciated!

It's not a new policy. However, as I understand it, they really don't want hard styrofoam coolers.

Hard cooler are not allowed, but we had no problem taking on a soft sided cooler on wheels this past July. We filled it with our wine and soda and just pulled it on with the rest of our carry-ons.

We were on Dec. 15 Wonder and brought our rolling soft-sided cooler packed with bottled soda and water...the porter at the curb took it with the rest of our bagage.
