We are going to WDW January 2 through January 7 - me, my hubby, 19 year old son, 16 year old son, 9 year old daughter - staying at POR. I will be calling prior to our arrival to insist (nicely) on adjoining (connecting) rooms. We are getting two rooms, we will be more comfortable with two showers, two TVS and four beds for my football player sized boys! Any recommendations as to best rooms at the POR?! We want non-smoking for sure - we will be relying on WDW transportation - no car - want to be close to the food court - would like a newly renovated room - understand some parts of POR are still under renovation - any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

We just got back from POR today, we had Arcadian House, 3rd Floor. Very close to the pool and North Bus Depot. Quiet, easy walk everywhere. Room was refurbished with fridge.

Not sure about the refurbished rooms but if you want to stay in the Alligator Bayou section we liked Bldg. 15. Bldg. 14 is even closer to things but is typically reserved for handicapped. We also liked bldg 18 but they have some smoking rooms there and it didn't work for us due to medical reasons.

I would just suggest that you try to get on the third floor. Not that it's particulary noisy at POR (I think the walls are thick, unlike some of the newer hotels) but it's just a nice precaution to take if you can!

POR is my favorite - have fun!

we stayed at magnolia bend (mansions) section of POR 3 weeks ago and we had a very newly renovated room with fridge. it was convenient (in my opinion) to the east depot, and about a 5 min walk to lobby and food.

we were in AB 2 weeks ago, and it looked like only a few buildings had been renovated. Ours had (building 24) but I would forego renovations for a more convenient location.

We like the ground floor for the convenience, and didn't have any problems with noise, but that's an individual preference

also when you request your rooms and want the door in between make sure you request connecting not adjoining rooms!!! We made this mistake when we stayed at WL and had to change rooms. Adjoining rooms are side by side, no door in between. Connecting rooms have a door in between. What a convience that is!!!
