Hi! I've keeping up with the play-by-play thread but I have two questions:

1. How long are the incentives good for?

2. How easy is it to get a SV at AKV at the 7 month mark?

Overall I thought the webcast was a waste of time but we were already thinking of adding on. We're debating AKV and GCV. We will seldom go to California but with the limited number of DVC available I figure this one will be tough to get in without the 11 month advantage.

AKV is the best deal for the Florida if buying direct from Disney and at some point we would like to stay there. But we won't stay there every time. We already have BLT which is where we'll stay mostly.

2010 MF's for GCV are $3.938.

As far as getting GV's at AKV I'd say that will be hit or miss. If you are able to be flexibile and will look for a shorter amount of time it will be better but I wouldn't rely on it happening at 7 months. The time of year will make a difference as well.

My guide said they are good until 4/3. If you get APril use year by 3/31, you get both 09 and 10 points (SSR and AKV that I know of-not sure of the others) with only 10 main. fees

I had no trouble getting a 2BR SV at a little less than 7 months. Can't say how "easy" it is, though.

I'd wager it's harder to get BLT at 7 months than AKV at 7 months.

Just booked for friends. 2 Savannah at Kidani in October, at 7 months out.

My point was that you essentially get another year's of points for "free" if you add on with the April use year by 3/31. After 4/1 you don't get the 09 April points. When I have added on, I have had to pay the pro-rated dues for that year.

Thanks for all the info!!!! Still thinking about the add-on. Leaning toward VGC because of the limited # and I think it will extremely difficult to get in there without the extra booking time. Also the MFs are a little lower.

Tara--that was part of why we bought BLT. I knew we would want to stay there and given the location, sometimes it will be nearly impossible to get in there without the 11 month booking time.

Guess I need to call my guide....

Are the dates for the incentive cruises posted anywhere or do you have to call your guide to find out the available sailing dates?
