My 11 yr old son has ADHD, and his mind runs a mile a minute- especially when we are riding in the car. Here's a few of the questions he asked me during a short drive to visit my parents last night.

1. How does the salt get in the sea?
2. What is a crypt?
3. Do sixth graders get to play school sports?
4. If you went 5 million miles per hour, would your skin peel off?
5. How much does a photo memory card cost?
6. If you have a million dollars, but no will, who gets the money?

Keep in mind- after I answer the initial question, there are then 2-3 more follow up questions on the subject. :)

I understand the bombardment. And when I don't know the answers right off the bat, I get "Let's go home and Google it!!!"

Ya gotta love the way "unique-minded" kids think! My son has Asperger's and makes stunning observations such as:

"If this were a highway instead of a freeway, we wouldn't be free we would just be high!"

:lmao:

LOL!

You might try finding him the IMPONDERABLES seris

How Does Aspirin Find a Headhache?
Do Penguins Have Knees?
Are Lobsters Ambidextrous?

I've got an ADHD kid. So far I have been able to fend her off b/c she reads lots of books.

O.K., I need answers to questions 1 and 5.

How salt gets in the sea ( from what I remember from science class)

Salt is a naturally occurring mineral. When it rains the water washes the salt away. Some of the water makes it to a stream, which may flow into a river, which eventually will end up at the ocean, carrying the salt with it. The water evaporates leaving the salt behind. Continue until the water is salty.

my 9 yo w/ adhd asks all the questions and doesn't wait for the answers :mic:

DS doesn't have ADHD (or at least I don't suspect it) but he asks questions incessantly. I almost never just answer his questions. I usually ask him what he thinks.... a lot of the time, he knows the answer..... other times it leads to some pretty interesting conversations..... and yet other times, we have to find the answer somewhere and we both learn something.

That sounds like something he would love! Thanks.
