Questions From A Potential Buyer

Hi all,

I really want to call Disney Home, so I'm seriously considering joining the DVC. I do have a couple quick questions for you if you can help me. First, does anyone know how long it takes for the DVC video and information to arrive? And secondly, after looking at the points chart, it looked like 100 points would be good for our travel needs. I started looking around at resellers (because there is 150 minimum at Saratoga Springs) and at one of the resellers websites I found this: "Disney requires 150 minimum points to be a Disney Vacation Club Member" Does anyone know if this is true? If it is, than I can forget the 100 point idea and start looking at 150. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I believe that is correct, but you can always call the DVC and speak to a sales rep...that way you get the best info.

If you can do it go with 150 thats what we started out with in 99
we just added 50 more this year and are so happy we did

Disney will not sell you less than 150 but you can become an owner with any amount you want via resale.

I'm surprised that the re-sellers site would say that. There was a good post on here a while back that had information from a lot of owners with small contract amounts. You should look it up if the search function is ever working again. If 100 points will do it for you, then try to buy that amount on a resale contract.

It shouldn't take very long for the video and information to arrive 1-2 weeks. You can go resale but keep in mind all resorts other than SSR are only deeded until 2042, while SSR is deeded until 2054 so if you want to pass it on, I would consider that. I bought SSR through Disney and found their financing to be great-considering my credit from my messy divorce a while back. If you want anymore info just PM me.
