Just booked a cabin for Oct 6-9. Purpose of trip is to introduce a couple of friends to WDW (can you believe someone out there has never been???) Did not want to pay for 2 deluxe rooms without guarantee of ap discount yet so I reserved cabin. I think it will give us the same close access to MK at much less the cost. Besides I had been wanting to stay there.
Question 1: I cant read the maps I have seen online. Which loop is closest for cabins to the marina and trails end? Do I ask for preferred??
Question 2 How late do the boats run after special events like the halloween party? After regular park hours?
Question 3 would you suggest a cart?
Question 4 How are mosquitos at the outdoor movies in October?

That is it for now. I am sure that I will have many more as the time approaches.
Thanks!!!

I highly recommend the 2500 loop. I don't believe there is a preferred loop for cabins, but who knows. All I can tell you is that 2500 is a shorter loop, the bus stop is at the end of it, and the pool/laundry is right next door.
If you have 4 adults in your party, and you plan on spending a lot of time at the campgrounds, then you might want to rent the cart. If you will spend most of your time at the parks, then the buses should be sufficient.
No cabins are close to either the check in or the marina/trail's end. You really have to take the buses or carts to either. The campsites are bewteen the cabins and the marina. Buses were excellent, so no worry there.
We LOVED the cabins and the 2500 loop! :)
Can't help you with the other questions.
Have a great time!

2600 is good too, as it is across the road from 2500, but ask for a site closer to the bus stop so it's just a short walk to 2500 and the pool.

If you're getting the cabin for the ease of getting to the parks, a golf cart will be a big help. Without one, you're looking at a bus+boat or 2 busses to get to any park. All of the cabin loops are a very long walk to anything.

if you're looking at a map, be sure that you are looking at cabin loops and not campsite loops. The campsite loops are closer to everything (in general).

Thanks guys. I am thinking a cart is the way to go. Can you just park them when you get on the boat to the MK? How are the buses to Epcot, AK and MGM?

I've never rented a golf cart (I know a lot of people love them, but I have never waited more than 10 min anywhere in FW for a bus, including the internal buses) but I know you can park them down at the marina, right next to the path that takes you to the docks.

We've taken buses to all the parks and have never had any problems. If you like, you can even take the boat to MK, then hop a monorail to Epcot. This is what we normally do. :flower:
