My 5 year old DD, has a lot of questions about our 7 day Magic Eastern Caribbean cruise. She is fascinated by this message board and wants me to post some of her questions. She is a little apprehensive about the Oceaneers Club. Anyone with kids who can provide some answers for her, she will love checking this with me until our cruise in April.

1. Has anyone gone to Stitch's Luau? Was it fun?
2. We heard there was a tea party with Cinderella. Is this true? Comments?
3. Was the slide in Mickey's Pool fun or scary?
4. What was your favorite part of the cruise?
5. Do they have chicken nuggets?
6. What should I bring? Anything special I might not think about?
7. Are the cast members at the Oceanners Club nice?
8. What characters will I see?

Thanks for your questions - these are all genuine from my DD. She is looking forward to hearing from you.

When are you going? We are on the April 30th Eastern and I have a 5 year old!

2-There is a tea party with Wendy from Peter Pan but I did not see any Cinderella one when I was onboard

3-My 5 (Then 4) year old said it was VERY FUN!
4-She said her favorite part was dinner with our servers doing magic tricks for her!
5-YES
7-yes
8-Cinderella, Snow White, Jasmine, Belle, Alice, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy,Pluto, Smee, Capt. Hook. (those are all she remembers)

Kasey is not an outgoing type kid with new things and strangers but once she went into the club I couldn't get her out of it. One day she stayed in there from 9am-midnight, only coming out for dinner with us!! The first day there the staff saw she was a bit shy and came right over to her and sat dow nand got her involved with something so it was easy for me to then leave. I had went planning on staying for the whole time the first day if she needed me to. She did like me to walk to the bathroom with her to wash her hands when she first got there (they squirt soap on their hands as soon as they step into the club and they have to wash them before playing). She was also apprehensive about using the bathrooms there so I walked her into the bathroom and she saw all the things in there are mini sized and she wouldn't have any trouble using them.

#6. She should bring her princess dresses. Great for the photo opps, as well as for the formal and semi-formal nights.

#4. The towel animals were a nice surprise every night.

Thanks so much! We are going on the 4/16 Eastern cruise - so unfortunately we'll miss you. My DD is a bit shy as well. Last year we went to a Club Med with a fantastic kids program. My DS (then age 8) didn't want to go to the kids club, but then didn't want to leave. My DD, however, really struggled. I tried it a few times, but didn't push it. I wanted her to have fun too. It is, afterall, a family vacation. My ideal is for the kids to spend just a coupel hours a dayin the Club (except on excursion days - where we will all venture off together). Unfortunately, my DS thinks it should be 12+ hours, and my daughter would prefer to stay with us all day and forget the Club altogether. My DH will have to watch her when I go for my massage! I'm hoping these posts get her excited. Plus, we've connected with a family that lives close by with a DD about the same age. Either way, we'll have fun.

Tonight at dinner, DD5 asked if there were any more messages from Ariel on the computer. It took me a while to figure it out, but she saw your picture when I read your reply. She thinks Ariel replied from the ship! You should have seen the smile on her face. Thanks so much!

If anyone else has tips for a 5 yo Girl, please post a reply. She's anxious to hear more!

We sailed on the Wonder in September. My then not-quite-8 y.o. granddaughter LOVED the Oceaneer's Club. She couldn't wait to go in the morning and stayed late into the night. Her mom and I checked on her through out the day, but the minute she saw one of us she start yelling "I'm fine - go away."

Cissy loved the counsellors in the Club. While in the Club Capt. Mickey, Alladin (sp?), Peter Pan and Capt. Hook came to visit.

There are also numerous meet and greets with the characters in the atrium.

Cissy loved Mickey's slide, but there's a puddle of water at the bottom and you get splashed in the face ... you might want to hold your nose as you go around the last turn.

YES, there are chicken nuggets ... Cissy mom had them for dinner several times, LOL!!!

Cissy and her brother William brought their blankets and the stuffed animals they sleep with. Our stateroom hostess, Esther set them up in fun positions when she made our beds each morning.

Cissy favorite thing on the cruise was the Club ... especially late at night when they opened up the dress-up closet.

LOL...that is to funny!! My daughter really got a kick out of what the staff did to her stuffed animal (Shammy)that she brought with her to the club. They printed out a ID bracelet like the one my daughter was wearing and wrote "Shammy (and our last name) on it and Shammy got to wear it in the club so he didn't get lost.
One thing that Kasey mentioned she wanted to do this cruise was to go get ice cream every day like last cruise. When I went to the spa each day my friend would take her down for an ice cream and she loved that she could just walk up and order an ice cream!
I had ordered a basket from Shirley for her and when we went into the room it was there for her, she loved it. She got to take her own pictures with the camera that was in it and it was all in a big sand pail that she used at the beaches on the cruise.
She also said to tell your daughter that the pajama party was fun.

Special reply for DD5:

My DD used to WORK in the club. She was one of the counselors so of course I think they are nice. When she called home she would tell me about the fun things they did in the club. Then when we went on our cruise she took me to the club and showed me all the fun things she did with the kids. It made me wish I was 4 or 5 again so I could play on the Pirate ship and go to the pajama party or dance with Snow White. I'm not 4 or 5 but since you are, you can have LOTS of fun.

some of your questions answered from the view of my 6yo...

3...and 4.... Mickey slide was a blast...one of the best parts of the ship.
More for #4...having Mickey call and wake us up every morning...making new friends in the kids club

7. The cast members in the club were/are VERY nice.

That was my daiughters LEAST favorite thing.....actually she thought it was funny the first time but there was some kind of glitch in the system and the phone was ringing every 2 minutes with Mickey telling her to wake up...she would pick it up and start yelling in the phone "Mickey stop calling here I am up!!". I figured it would stop after a while but when he called about 15 times I had to call guest services and ask them to help LOL! The funny thing was that it was on our first cruise when she was 2 1/2 and she remembered it when we cruised last year and the first day on board said she did NOT want that pest mickey calling our room again!!

aprilgail2...That's to bad there was a glitch in the system...When he only calls once in the morning...it's cool...not pest like at all.
