Ok so finally I have once and for all made up my mind about where I'm going to stay during our family trip in October! (15 of us going most every one at diffrent hotels) I'm moving to Orlando sometime before Jan 06 (going to UCF yay!) so I'm going to buy an AP... now can I get a discount on my campsite? If so how? Who do I call? What to I do? How far in advance do I call? If I have AAA can I get a discount with that as well? (I'm really new to the whole AP thing) Is it worth while for me to drive or to fly? I kinda need this to be as cheap as possible since I'm saving to move....
If I drive I can kinda kill 2 birds with one stone by going to look at apartments while I'm there....but Id be driving by myself from Mass so its a long haul.... Before this trip is over I think im going to go nuts....
I'm so indecisive!!!! HELP :jester:

Thanks in advance everyone!

well - you can use you AP to book a campsite, but one never knows if they will release an AP discount code for Oct and if they do, if campsites will be included. lately AP codes have been for cabins only at FW - occasionally campsites are included, but not always.

as far as where to call to find out if/when they will be releasing AP codes for campsites...there isn't anyplace that i know of. you may want to monitor mousesavers.com regularly though. that site generally has the first info about any and all codes.

AAA rates are a bit more reliable, but i am not certain if campsites are included in the AAA discount rates. again mousesavers.com would have this info.

also note that any codes or discounts (AP, AAA or otherwise) are created in limited quantity. when they are sold out of that specified number of rates for any particular resort - they are gone and you have to go with another resort, another date, another discount or (gasp!) rack rates.

You can get AAA discounts at FW camping but you need to call NOW and make your reservation. Go ahead and over reserve if you are not sure on your exact dates then call back later (at least 5 days prior to your reservation!) to modify your reservation to accomodate your schedule. AAA rates are out for 2005, but they only offer X number of spaces at a discount so CALL NOW!

Save your money on your AP until you have made a ressie with an AP discount. When you call CRO (central reservations office) request an Annual Pass rate (they don't know what AP is or at least act like they don't know). I have seen most people comment that AP rates come out about two months in advance so start checking in August for your trip then have your reservation changed. I can't stress enough that you go ahead and get your ressie; you can always change or cancel later if you need to. WDW resorts have a nice cancellation policy.

Have fun!

Another consideration is whether or not the Florida Seasonal Pass will be better for you if you establish residency in FL. High season times are blacked out, but it may be more affordable for a college student.
