questions about wyndham bonnet creek

My family and I are taking our first disney cruise next April. When we get off the ship on Thurs we are heading to Orlando for 3-4 nights. Not sure we want to do Disney parks yet; thinking about just doing downtown disney and maybe sea world. Mostly just going to relax with some relatives down there for few days. Anyway, would like to stay within walking distance to downtown disney and my search brought me to Wyndham Bonnet Creek. It looks great but I have a few questions. Can you stay just a few days or is this a time share and you must stay a week? Do I book right from their website or is it better to book through somebody else? My brother-in-law is RCI owner so would it be worthwhile to look into renting points from him (really not sure how this works) or since we're just going for 3-4 nights is it better to just book the rooms and pay the price without points?
Also, is the resort truly walking distance to downtown disney? how long a walk?
Any info would be appreciated!

HI Kristi, I wouldn't say it is even close to walking distance in my opinion! It would take at least 20 mins to walk off the property and another 45 to an hour to DTD. Not to mention the crazy busy Disney road! I would try a DTD hotel! There is many in the area!

Bonnet creek is listed as a DTD hotel (at least on sites such as expedia and tripadvisor) that's why I thought it was walking distance. Hmmm.....that stinks! I really love the looks of this place and the reviews. Is there anything that is truly walking distance to DTD? I guess that isn't really a big deal. We could do a rental car instead of transfers. Decisions, decisions!

Bonnet Creek is wonderful! I am sure the person I rented from you could do 3 or 4 night rentals, but you would have to check with him. Alot of people on her use him, vacationupgrades.com Ken Price is his name!
As far as DTD disney and walking distance try this website downtowndisneyhotels.com these are ones I believe that are walking distance. I don't know if you will find one there the same caliber as Bonnet Creek, but it is a start!

Thanks so much. I will definitely get in touch with Ken. I guess walking distance isn't a big deal. Since we are also considering a day at Sea World I think we'll just get a rental car instead of doing transfers; will probably work out just as well price wise. I really love what I've seen of bonnet creek. After getting off the cruise I think we will love all that space and I will LOVE being able to do my laundry before heading home!

Those are all things that I love as well, especially the laundry part! When coming home to snow still on the ground in March, but spring is right around the corner. I wash all the summer clothes there, and birng them home and just leave them in the suitcase in my landing for a couple of weeks, then take them out and put them in my girls drawers instead of packing them away again! You will love Bonnet Creek, it is a beautiful resort!~Enjoy
