First, realistically, what are the crowds like (since this is considered prime season)?

Second, how useful is EMH in March? Since I know park hours are shorter I really would like to stay on property to take advantage of EMH. Unfortunately, my parents who are not so wild about WDW resort costs are also going with us and they want to opt for much cheaper accomodations off site. Since we really do need to stay in the same hotel as they do, this is quickly becoming a debate.

Are we really missing out if we don't get EMH? We are traveling with 5 adults 1 of whom is handicapped and 2 children ages 18 months and 3 1/2 years. Suggestions?

Hi there,

We were there this yr last 2 weeks of March/first week of April.

I can't advise on EMH as we stayed off-site. There are those that have found EMH too busy.
Even if staying off-site I would reccommend getting to parks for them opening, on non EMH days, this allows you to accomplish a lot with minimal lines.

It can be done at this time of year with a little planning.

Personally, even when we are on site we don't do teh Early Entry. I prefer to go to a non EE park as the one with the extra hour is always very busy.

There are some lovely properties off-site, we have stayed both on and off-site, and while i do enjoy the special touches that the WDW resort hotels can offer, we have had some equally magical trips while we were off-site.

I think crowd levels increase as you get later in March into April, peaking on Easter week. We go the first week of March and crowds have not been bad at all. We avoid the EE park (don't want to get up that early!), and follow the advice of these boards and the Unofficial Guide in terms of which parks to visit which days.

Good luck!

Our anniversary is the 13th, and we usually go for about 9 days surrounding that date. We haven't taken the kids recently (just DH and I) and the longest ride wait time I remember is 45 minutes. I never went on the thrill stuff (like RNR or TOT or TT), so I don't know what the wait times were on those. Most of the popular stuff you can get fast passes for & the weather is not terribly hot. We enjoy WDW in March (never at Easter time, though!).
