Questions about waitlist at home resort

I am hoping that someone can help me here, and possibly save me a call to MS. I booked a reservation for January 2013 at my home resort (AKV) today. We booked a 2BR value lock off for six nights, Jan 20-26, but we really wanted to go earlier in the month. I was trying to get something like 1/2-1/8 but there are two nights that aren't available.

I have never used the waitlist feature before so this is all new to me. I booked the stay for the 20th, and if I understand correctly, I could waitlist other dates and if that stay comes available then my current reservation would be replaced with the desired one. I figure it couldn't hurt to try. So I tried to waitlist a stay, but under the reservation to be replaced it says "You've selected a non-home Resort for dates that fall during the Home Resort Priority period. Please make another selection or change your dates."

Why would this happen? It allowed me to book this reservation at Jambo before the 7 month date, so why is it calling it a "non-home resort"?

Double check your resort and date selection for the wait list. If you still get the error, there is a software issue. Call MS and have them place the WL for you.

Thanks for the suggestion! I tried it a few more times, and if it still happens in the morning I'm going to call MS. Just wanted to check and make sure I wasn't missing something.
