I've been reading through pretty much all of the threads on debt reduction on here lately and saw that alot of the people on here use cc just for the rewards and then pay them off immediately. I'm debt snowballing right now and I don't know if what I just did was even a good idea. I was just approved for a Choice Hotels rewards card. I personally do not have any cc in my name, we have two with balances under $300 in DH's name that we're paying off and keeping one for emergencies. DH and I like the Choice Hotel chain and want to get the reward points for free nights.
My question is, how do you pay it off so you aren't charged interest? Do you have to pay it immediately before the bill comes, or do you just have to pay the bill in full when it comes? I would want to pay it immediately so I could be sure not to get back in debt, if I do that will I still get the rewards? My plan was to use it for my groceries and then pay it off as soon as it shows up on my account, can I do that? I'm sorry if these are stupid questions, but the interest on this card starts out low, but after 6 months is really high and I don't want to pay it!
