Questions about Upgrades

Hi all

Me and Disneyfoo are going to stay in the hotel Cheyenne from Monday 18th to Friday 22nd (checking out that morning). What are the chances of us getting an upgrade if we ask for it?

I've had a very bad back for just over a week now, where walking is very painful, we'll be calling the hotel to see if they can offer us anything in the way of an upgrade, hoping for Disneyland Hotel, since I won't have to walk very far to the park! Closeness to the park is a big priority thanks to my back :sad2: Unfortunately buses seem to make my back worse, so the shuttlebus is very much out of favour! Not looking forward to the VEA :guilty:

Has anyone here got an upgrade from HC to DH, and what are the general chances of getting an upgrade if you ask for it?

Also, how should I ask when I call the hotel on Wednesday (which is possibly tomorrow by this time!)? It's going to be very embarassing if they say no

Thanks in advance,
Katy

Do you mean a free upgrade our paying for it?

Remember its very busy this time of the year.

I think they is very little chance of a free upgrade if you ask. I gues you could try however be prepared that it is mostly likely will be a no.

I asked a CM who works in DLRP.
This is the answer:

Translation:

If the hotel( Cheyenne) is not fully booked she has no chance at all to get a free upgrade.
If Cheyenne is overbooked, perhaps, but the lady can not choose in witch hotel she could get an upgrade.
The Disneyland Hotel is the last option of course en it happens really not often.

When the CM worked in Santa Fe it happens only once and only because a new employee made a mistake.
The hotel where you made your reservation has to pay for your upgrade so they try to avoid this.
There is a special department (RevDev) witch decides how many upgrades ant to what hotel they are made.

Don’t shoot the massager.

As people have said you can always ask for an upgrade but be VERY prepared for a no.

First time we ever went to DLRP we got upgraded from a standard room to a Montana Room at Sequoia Lodge (not that we know at the time having never visted before) - this was when we travelled with Leger and arrived late in the day.

The later you arrive the more likely you are for an upgrade it would appear from hearing other's tales of upgrades :)

As others have said the chances of being upgraded from the 2 * Cheyenne to 5* Disneyland is nil, unless you want to part with major ££££ :)
