OK moderators, please feel free to move me into the FAQ section. I wasn't sure if I should post there.
I am having a dilema about whether to have my ceremony in the courtyard, or at out the cresent terrace. Michelle, the wedding planner from Justmarry told me that the cresent is really windy all the time, and it will blow stuff away. I really want a lot of rose petals on the walkways, and she said they will all blow away, and that we should use the courtyard. I think that the courtyard is really pretty, but I don't like the seating set up for it.
ALSO, I have to have a horse and buggy!!! What would be the point of it if we use the courtyard? Has anyone used a horse and buggy at the Swan? If so, where did you go? Also, anyone used rose petals??
THanks so much!!

I think your question is fine right where it is - everyone else asks questions in this area.

I just had my wedding in the Crescent Terrace and think it is a beautiful location. I also was not too fond of the set up or look of the Courtyard. I found it to be quite breezy the day of our wedding, but it was pretty breezy outside. Susan (my planner and her assistant) waited until the last possible moment to scatter my rose petals because of the wind. I did not have a lot (didn't want a lot) and most of them were gone by the end of the ceremony. However, I think I swept most of them away with my gown.

I've never been there before so I don't know if it is always breezy, but there are a lot of trees and shade in the area and it is along the water so it is possible that a lot of rose petals would be tough to control.

I don't know about the horse and carriage. Ask your planner about this and see if she has any pictures of how past brides handled this.

Here is a picture that will show some of my rose petals after I walked through them (I only had them at the "altar" area):

Thanks!! I just read your PJ, and I have been following it for a while!! Your wedding looked beautiful.:flower3: I could probably bombard you with 100 questions since you just got married there!! But I'll wait to read more in your journal.
I think I am still going to try the Crescent Terrace location, and we'll see what happens with the petals. I had my heart set on lots of them, since I didn't get them the 1st time around.
I love your pics.

I'm not certain about this, but isn't the beach an option too for the ceremony location? I thought that I read that about a year ago. If it is than it might be another option.

I believe that it is. However, it was not offered up to us. Also, I want it to formal, so the beach isn't going to work for us. I think that it is a beautiful idea!! I wanted to do a beach wedding to begin with, but I want pictures at the castle even more!!!:yay:

Thank you!! I hope that my journal will help. There are missing pieces between the PJ and where the TR ends because I just ran out of time getting everything done. I hope to fill in the blanks as they come up in the TR or go back and address them when finished. But please feel free to ask away...

I noticed that you also mentioned pictures at the castle. Not sure if you are aware that only DFTW brides can get the MK shoot. Swan brides cannot do this. You can do a honeymoon shoot, which is a lot less money. BUT no wedding clothes and I think they do this when the park is opened... Just something to keep in mind if the castle shots are that important to you.

I've already been on the phone with Disney about this. I was granted permission - for now - to get a castle shoot. I am going to book it ASAP when I get the money. It is one of the reasons that we are doing the ceremony there and not else where. Disney did say that this will not always be the case, so I do need to book it soon. We'll see what happens!! I do have it in writing however!!!
