Questions about the end of the process

We are finalllly almost done this long process! We are at 7 weeks today and I'm ready to be done and book my vacation!

We closed on Friday and the information was sent to Disney - it showed up on the orange county website yesterday afternoon...after it shows up there about how long should it be until it is recorded in Disney's system?

Does anyone else have the problem where they call member services and press 2 then press 2 again and only get a stupid recording. How in the heck do you get to speak to someone...ARRRGGGG

I have called...three times in the last two days ...I'm sure they love me!!

I think member "administration" is only open until 5, and member "services" is open until 730...maybe that's the reason you're getting the message? I think those are the options I selected to speak to a person, not a recording.

MS used to be able to check your account if you gave them your SSN. Member Administration never answered live for me and sometimes would not call back.

I closed on Dec 7. Was in the system 10 days later. So I wouldn't have to wait, I asked MS to transfer me to Member Administration who was able to give me my Member ID and the info I needed to register and log into DVCMember.com.

I simply had to verify address, phone, etc and provide my contract and unit # off of my closing docs.

She told me that now that I had my member id# I was all set to call to make reservations

Once you are in the system, you actually should be able to make reservations as soon as Member Administration gives you your Member ID.

Thanks to everyone for the advice and tips. I was actually able to get through using another phone, so yippee. Unfortunately, I have not been uploaded into the system though, so I will try back later in the week.

I was told Disney had my contract on 3rd July and my points were in my account and I booked my next vacation on the 5th! I couldn't believe it was that quick but I was already a member and I added on at the same resort and with the same UY.

CWF - That is super helpful info, thanks! I received the letter from Fidelity saying I was passed to Disney on the 3rd of July and one from the title company on the 6th saying I was through, so hopefully they put me in on the 3rd, so I can get into the system manana... .

Please let me know if you get in, and then I will definitely be on them!

WOW, that is crazy fast! That might be b/c you are already an existing member. Hopefully my second contract will go in that quick once we get through all the closing stuff on that one.

Mine was closed on the 6th, so it shouldn't be that much longer!

My deed went through on July 2nd, so I am thinking I was actually sent through on July 3rd. As of yesterday afternoon, I was still not in DVC's system. I ended up talking to tammy both times, but I was just super pleasant on the phone so she wasn't too mean.

I am going to give it a rest today, but I will be calling back Friday to see if I am in then. If not, that is just ridiculous!

Yeah, Tammy hates me. There is a southern guy there who is super friendly and always tells me to call back the next day...I like him! Let me know if you're in tomorrow...I am going on vacation next Friday and I won't have computer/internet for 10 days so I'm gonna be angry if I can't book before then!!

Hi I also called and got Tammy contract went on 6th I believe and was told by Tammy on Wednesday that they were working on contracts from the 4th and 5 th and she's not that pleasant and was kind of matter of fact lime. Hope you get into the systum real soon

Hmm she keeps giving conflicting information! I called yesterday and she said they were working on the 4th. Hoping today is my day! The people at member services are sooo much more pleasant.

Got closing documents yesterday, signed, dated and sent them back with final payment. Assuming title company does not work on Saturdays figure they will have them on Monday. After that they send the same docs to the sellers and we wait for them to do their part.......typically how long does this take?

I should know this but the last time I got this far the owners never signed their papers and we had to cancel after 69 days of waiting. I'm starting to have flashbacks.

Dizbub - the sellers received their closing docs the same time as us (our title co was timeshare title and more). Here is our timeline...we did get a loan so we had to have everything notarized, so things took a little longer.

June 20 - received closing documents
June 23 - sent closing documents to title company
June 28 - closing documents received by title company from buyer & seller
June 29 - final funds requested from loan company
July 6 - contract closed
July 9 - deed/mortgage appear on orange county website

Still waiting to be put in the system and make my first reservation!!
