Questions about the DDE

I have to admit to being a bit confused about the DDE. We have a big family trip planned for just before Christmas. All total there will be about 14 of us. So I thought that the DDE would be a good benefit to us.

We are DVC members so we already get a 10% discount at a lot of restaurants but am wondering if we all go to dinner as a group, how many people can use the DDE discount, everyone in the party?? We plan a couple nice restaurants out so thought it may be helpful.

Lastly is the DDE only available if you buy an AP or can you pay more for it without the AP? We still have some tickets left from last year and I don't think that we will need more for this trip... Is there a good website to read about the DDE?

You can only join DDE if you have an AP or are a FL resident.It is good for up to ten people I believe so might not work for your extra four.

If you are planning just a few meals out, using your DVC discounts might work best.

If you think you would enjoy a table service and counter service/per day/per person check out the Disney Dining Plan which is now available to DVC members and their guests staying on points at DVC resorts. It offers really good value if your group fits those parameters.
