Questions about the Beach Club Villas

We are in the early stages of planning a late April trip to Disney. Our preference would be to stay at the BLTin a 1 bdrm. Traveling will be my husband and I and our three children (ages 7, 4, and 2). At this point, we will be going for 5-6 nights. However, I want some backup hotels and I am thinking about the Beach Club Villas.

We stayed at the BV this past Sept. It was nice but we often had long waits for an elevator and our room was at the end of the building. We joked that we were closer to DHS vs EPCOT. And pushing a heavy double stroller was not fun!

So, my questions:

1. At the Beach Club, are the villas located closer to EPCOT or to the Yacht Club?

2. Are there more than one bank of elevators that support the Beach Club?

3. Is there a counter-service at the Beach Club?

4. Any other hotels to consider? (I prefer a villa or a suite for the extra space, my kid's nutty sleep patterns, and the fact that my husband often has to work on vacation while we have at least 1 child napping)

1 Yacht Club
2 Yes, the main bank and a single elevator by the far end of the quiet pool.
3 Yes, the store and the pool offers counter service.
4 It depends on what you are looking for.

1) would stay Epcot - the YC is good distance away - by road.

4) all the DVC resorts have studios and villas - so AKV, OKW, SSR, BWV, BCV, VWL, BLT -

most of the deluxe resorts have suites - so BC, YC, BWI, GF, CR, Polyn, WL, AKL - but the prices are high

BLT & VWL are close to the MK - BLT you can walk to the MK, VWL boat or bus.

BWV, BCV are within walking distance (or boat) to both Epcot and studios.

BLT has the monorail to Epcot.

ssr and OKW are boat, bus or walking distance to DD.

I like the beach club very much,

1) I think the villas are closer to Epcotn but it's the back of Epcot, the world showcase. although they are very connected to the Yacht club.

2) The villas actually have 2 elevators.

3) Yes. along side of the beach club there are a lot of easy options along the boardwalk that I love.

4) If you have small kids I would consider the Villas at the wilderness lodge. I love that resort also and it's close to MK

We stayed at BCV with 3 children under 5, including a double stroller. I LOVE that resort. We were in a 2 bedroom that trip (another family was along with us). The counter service area is easy to get to and has many options in my opinion. We never had to wait long for an elevator and the walk to Epcot was nice. We could see some of Illuminations from our balcony. The zero entry area of SAB near the Yacht Club side is perfect for the younger set and relaxing for parents.

We stayed at VWL last trip and although they're nice and the boat ride to Magic Kingdom was fun, we prefered BCV. Especially if you're planning on having pool time. ;)

Have a wonderful trip!

This map will probably be helpful.

The villas themselves are geographically closer to Epcot than they are to the Yacht Club. However, you still have to walk a bit to get to International Gateway. On the map, Epcot would be to right (you can see in little print "walkway to Epcot" near the legend).

3. Is there a counter-service at the Beach Club?
Yes, the Marketplace is located inside the Beach Club resort store.

A one bedroom at BLT offers a 2nd bathroom, sleeper sofa and sleeper chair. If that is important to you the only other villa that offers all of that for a one bedroom is AKV. OKW will offer sleeper sofa and sleeper chair, but not the extra bathroom. If these details are not important to you then I would decide what you want to be close to....Magic Kingdom, Epcot, DTD, or Animal Kingdom. Are you looking for something specific in dining, pool offering, quietness or more active atmosphere?
