Questions about staying at Saratoga with a toddler

Hi, we are leaving October 7 for our Disney trip (YEAH). We are staying in a studio at Saratoga. We usually request Congress park but this time we are going with my 11 month old granddaughter and was wondering if a different location would be better. My granddaughter is now walking so was thinking that having a location near where there is a kids pool would be better. I know there is a kids pool at the main pool but are there any other locations within Saratoga? If not and we should stay near the main pool where is a good location for that to request?

Also, to all experienced toddler takers any suggestion for sleeping arrangements in a studio? I'm concerned that my granddaughter may not go to sleep because she won't have her own room. Is there a way of putting the pack-n-play somewhere that would isolate her a little? I was thinking about possibly hanging a blanket somewhere but can't really think of how to do it. Everyone is so clever on these boards thought someone would have a solution.
Thanks, Beth

I liked the grandstand pool, there is a water play area and it is a quick walk to the main pool. It also is the first stop for busses, so easy to load strollers, etc.

I would agree, the Grandstand area would be perfect! Great water play area, first bus stop and a quick walk to the main building for food and the feature pool.

As for sleeping arrangements, my kids were always so tired after a day out and about at Disney that they would fall asleep quickly, anywhere we put them!

We stayed in the Grandstand section last year and really enjoyed it. The "quiet" pool was nice and the kids loved the horse water play area too. And it wasn't far to get to the main pool area/lobby at all. Also a quick walk to the boats for a nice ride to DTD. And being the first bus stop was nice as well after a long day at the parks.

We stayed in the Springs section when dds were 3 and 1. It was a quick walk to the pool, and the last bus stop which we actually prefer. I hate having to sit on the bus while it travels around the entire resort. I realize some would rather have a seat than have to stand, but we hate the extra time on the bus and rarely did we not get a seat.
It was also easy to hop off at the Paddock section and walk across the bridge to our room.

As for sleep arrangements, I would put the Pack n Play near the bathroom for some quiet. We have never stayed in a studio at SSR, but that is what we have done at the moderates and it works out well.

Have fun with your dgd.

Our kids (almost 2 & 4) sleep with sound machines at home, so we take those when we travel. It helps block out extraneous noise and helps the kids sleep better. If there's anything they are accustomed to at home, bring it with you!

On my older DS's 1st trip (9 mo) we stayed at POR and put the PNP between the entrance door and the 1st bed. It wouldn't work for us to put it in the bathroom since we were still getting ready for bed after he went to sleep. We don't watch TV much, though - just reading and such - so putting him in the bedroom worked for us.

I personally like Springs. Grandstand is very nice, if you are lucky enough to get the building near the pool. However two out of the four are not near the pool and one out of the four is pretty far removed.

We prefer 1st The Springs and 2nd Congress Park. For us The Springs was the most convenient when our dd was young. There aren't many options for placement of the pack and play. The only place is the nook between the closet and bathroom but that will limit your acess to that area. You wont be able to use the bathroom or sink.
Good luck and have a great trip!!

We have stayed at Saratoga Springs (our home resort) twice since our daughter was born and both times we were in the Springs and loved it! Very convenient to everything and we never had a problem with noise.

Same can be said with any of the sections...even springs out of three buildings, one is about the same distance from the pools as the grandstand buildings that stand off.

I wouldn't worry about it, pretty far removed is defined as a three to four minute walk across a parking lot. Took me much longer to get from my BCV room to the main pool area :rotfl2:

I suggest children's Benadryl. :goodvibes

If you are able to get from the furthest Grandstand building, the one nearest the Treehouses, to the main pool in three minutes you must have been flying.

We are taking our 19 month old DGD next week and we are looking to get the Springs section for this trip. Grandstand would be our second choice.

Let me know how you make out there with the toddler. Our DD will be 1.5 when we go next year.

We stayed in the Grandstand section of the resort, and loved the location.

The building we were in was located between the quiet pool (could see it from our balcony) and the Grandstand bus stop. It was a perfect location to catch the bus and was only a few minute walk to the Carriage House and the restaurants. As the grandstand is the first stop on the property, it was nice to always have a seat and have room to bring a stroller onto the bus.
